Has anyone else seen their MozRank change in the last few days. I just checked it today and I've never seen it this high.

Makes me think a PR update could be coming soon as well.

Mine jumped 2 full points from when I checked it last month. Please let this be a good sign of things to come?

Mine just made a huge jump too.  They must have made a major change to the formula.

I am two points over too haha. I read that G may discontinue pagerank like they did reader and other things in the past months, so Moz may have done a big algorithm change before they announce that there will not be PR updates anymore. Mozrank should be the natural next metric for advertisers.

Pauline, in Bulgaria we say 'from your mouth into the Lord's ears' (:)). This is good (everyone has gone up but my mozRank was always so much higher than my PR).

Do you guys pay attention to page MozRank or domain MozRank? My page rank is much higher than my domain rank and I've never been able to find a clear answer on why one might be more important than the other.

Hey, Matt – there are three measures:

Page Authority (PA) (1-100)

Domain Authority (DA) (1-100)

mozRank (mR) (to 9.99)

It seems to me that the DA and mR are the ones that really 'play'. Please correct me someone if I am wrong.

That's an interesting thought. If PR does go the way of the dodo, MozRank would be the natural choice. Now, I've never heard anything about the good folks at SEOMoz being too upset about private advertising. Would that mean it would be open season for that?

I'm looking for editors, beta-readers, and some demographic research for my upcoming novel, Once Upon a Saturn Moon. If you like reading soft sci-fi thrillers, maybe with a touch of romance thrown in, you can find more information at http://seampublishing.com/once…..aturn-moon

Nah, G still owns the internet. Private Advertising manipulates search results (in G's eyes), and they don't care what metric the advertiser is looking at, they care if you 'dofollow' a link that you were paid for.

So when I go to opensiteexplorer.org (maybe the wrong place?), I see both a "Page MozRank" and a "Domain MozRank". That's the distinction I'm curious about. Or maybe there's a different on altogether.

Matt,

it is what I was talking about: DA is the authority of your domain; PA is the authority of different pages (you will notice of you have a bar that the PA is very different for different pages). DA is important….But this is not your mozRank; this site doesn't show it and you need to install the SEOMoz Toolbar.

Matt,

MozRank takes ALL of the links back to your site into account. Domain MozRank only takes links to your root domain (http://ayoungpro.com for me). So if you have a lot of sites out there linking to specific articles on your site (which is how most links come through), your MozRank will be much higher than your Domain MozRank. I hope that makes sense.

Thanks for the explanation guys. Very helpful. For future reference it looks like the MozRank displayed in the SEOMoz Toolbar is what's labeled as "Page MozRank" when you enter your root domain into opensiteexplorer.org.
