Hi all!  I wrote a post on JC Penney's panicking after being hit by Google for buying links and how they contacted me to remove a perfectly legitimate link to their site. Since I hardly ever blog about blogging I submitted it to John Chow on Monday and it just went live a few minutes ago.  Can you please hop over and show some Yazekie love?

I'm hoping that Consumerist picks it up.  :)

Thanks everyone.

Internet marketing guru basically.

Funny thing is that I just got an email 10 minutes ago from ProBlogger and they wanted to publish it.  That would have been mind blowing.  I pitched another post.  Have to get my foot into all doors.

CONGRATS!  Can you tell us if you spiked later?  I did a bit a few weeks back for my guest post, but way less than I thought.  Commented and tweeted!  Laugh

So far no real spike.  Quite honestly, my post on growing up poor produced an extra 400 visitors than normal.  The guest post only accounted for 7 visits yesterday and 15 today.  You win some, you lose some.

Nice move!  The blogosphere loves that stuff!

Hopefully this works out so that you get a ton of links to your site and not just to the Chow article.  :)

Thanks for sharing, was there a big difference with your other one that ballooned to 400?  Your numbers are consistent to mine.  I believe I got 15 new visits when my Chow guest post went up.  Not an exact science I guess.  My take is a lot of his readers are big into marketing and monetizing.  If you don't have additional resources on those things, thanks for stopping by. Smile

The other post was my mini spike was mentioned on twitter by a bunch of people and then it kind of inspired 3 other people to write posts on the same thing which all linked back to mine.  :)

When you choose the right topic that hits a nerve I guess it develops its own two feet and take off.

Good job! I hope that this does open a few doors for you, even if it didn't create an immediate traffic spike.
