Just wanted to share what I believe to be a helpful link for bloggers who have to ask their Twitter followers, "Is my blog down, or is it just me?" I know I've wondered that many times. So, here's a website I found useful that actually helped me recently. (My site was down. It wasn't just me.)

Cool site.  You can also sign up for Pingdom and they will send you an email if your site is down.

Thanks for sharing! You could lose a lot of money, traffic, etc. if hours pass without realizing your site is down.

Very helpful – thanks!  I've only had my site down once or twice but thankfully I caught it pretty quickly and was able to get things fixed in a jiffy.  (Well actually my hosting company got things fixed in a jiffy :)  )

I use pingdom and it's been great at letting me know when my site is down.  It happened too frequently with my previous host and only once with hostgator.

Ya, I use Pingdom as well and set up a filter in Gmail so my inbox doesn't get spammed with emails from monitoring tools like that. I have a "Site Monitoring" label that the emails automatically go in to. I can then glance at my sidebar and see when a new email has come in under that label and I know to check it. It also allows me to quickly glance at a history of my site downtime.

Another site you can use is Montastic.  It's free and has saved my butt a few times.

Thanks for sharing. This is really helpful. Luckily I don't have to deal with this very often.
