I'm trying to put advertising in the homepage banner up top.

Does anyone know how to do this?

I use Thesis if that makes any difference.

Here is an example from Christian PF.

Thanks!

I wish I could tell you but I had my site guy do mine my other site.  When in doubt, outsource.  :)

There is a tutorial on the Thesis blog on  how to put ads in your header.  I just used the header hook to place mine though.

I was reading in depth about Panda and one of the things I saw is that ads above the fold can play a part in the algorithms, so make sure your site is strong enough to support that (i.e. have strength in other areas that this wouldn't factor in much).

Hi, if you need help you can always contact me at boris at cheapnfrugal.com . I use thesis as well. I don't have banner ad on top but I am fairly certain I can do it.  Like the other person said, you need to use the thesis hooks.

It is very, very easy. Just get the Thesis Open Hooks plugin and drop the code in where you want it to show up. Or you can roll it yourself using custom_functions.php

Thanks everyone, I was able to add the ad via Thesis Open Hooks.

I don't like the banner ads up top either, but I figure I'll give it a chance for a couple of month.
