I'm hosting the Yakezie Carnival this week. If you read this, please submit your best post of the summer (either in views, comments, or the one you liked writing the most–however you interpret "best")

Looking forward to hosting and reading your best work!

Brent,

Does the normal rule of no posts previously included in a carnival still apply, or is that being waived for this one? My best posts of the summer have all already appeared in other carnivals.

I'm looking for editors, beta-readers, and some demographic research for my upcoming novel, Once Upon a Saturn Moon. If you like reading soft sci-fi thrillers, maybe with a touch of romance thrown in, you can find more information at http://seampublishing.com/once…..aturn-moon

Hi Guys,

Just for the record, typically the actual Carnival Owner sets the policy with respect to the carnival rules and not the host.

Most carnivals have explicit rules around how old the posts can be that are included in the carnival.  The reason is so carnivals submitters don't keep submitting the same two or three articles over and over and over…  I believe that the Yakezie Carnival has a two week range like the rest of the all the other blog carnivals.

Money Reasons,

Thanks for clearing that up. Sorry for the confusion as this is my first time hosting. So I guess your favorite post from the past 2 weeks that has NOT been submitted to carnivals previously.

It should still be fun!

Edward, so apparently I didn't read the rule book. So 2 week window and not previously submitted to Carnivals.

Bummer, my best from the past two weeks isn't even close to the same caliber as my best from the summer. Oh well.

Edward, sorry about that mate. I'm still curious as to what your best post was. Put the link below and I'll Tweet it out later so my hoards of readers can clog up your servers. Ok, so maybe my mom will click on it.

Actually, the post is just over 2 weeks old, but it was definately in a carnival. But in terms of comments and traffic, it's been the most popular post I've written this summer, and in the top 10 for most popular ever.

It is Learn Frugality From the Poor

Exactly :)  Well sort of…  Only certain carnivals require that the article hasn't been submitted before.  A good example is Luke's carnival.  Others don't care as much.

The idea is to promote your site.  Of course there is always the chance that you won't be accepted on a carnivals (I know, I've missed quite a few over the years…)

I wasn't going to say anything because it sounds like a cool idea.

Of course there is always the idea of reposting it so that it's "new"… lol don't tell…

I think the main thing is not to submit something from 2006…

Thanks for the reminder.  I haven't submitted a post to the Carnival in a while.  I just submitted one for this week:  the unbelievable but true story of how I saved $1,100 on car repair – thanks to a 2nd opinion, free towing, and a 40-hour test drive.

Thanks Brent!  I get to So Cal a few times a year – hope to meet you sometime.  Maybe I can buy you lunch at In-N-Out. :)
