Full of questions lately…  We are all bloggers, but if you were to choose one, would you consider yourself an artist or journalist, specifically to your blog.

I actually consider myself more of an artist. Cool

If I had to pick between the two I would say journalist.

I would say journalist – although, that doesn't really fit me.

Never thought about it like that.  I chose artist because I almost feel like painting or chiseling a piece together.  Some people might like it and some people may not.  …eye of the beholder right? Smile

Thanks Buck! I'm not creative at all, so I know that artist could never describe me!

Wow, we have a wealth of journalists here!  Guess I'm one of the oddballs. Surprised

Keyboard slave?  Journalist with a sense of humor?  That's kind of creative so, artist?  Laugh

Journalist doesn't feel right, but "artist" makes me think of a naked guy standing on a fencepost covered in jello sacrificing a chicken over counterfeit religious artifacts while quoting from Salmon of Doubt, backwards.

Those days are behind me, so I'll go with journalist.

If that's how we're defining artist, I'm switching my vote…

Don't make me cut off my ear! Yell

Ok, now that I've lost the Terminator to the journalist side, I might have to try and swing it back to the artist side.  Although many of you research and produce articles like a journalist, you are using your juices to make articles in a creative manner right?

  1. First of all, granted your data has to provide value and information, you did take some time to make your website look pleasing or else we all would have stuck to the default template.  Sometimes we add some flare like a cute picture, some music, or even a video clip to emphasize our point in our posts.
  2. Second, I'm just getting the hang of it, but we are like musical conductors flowing between Yakezie, Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, and whatever else pops up over the horizon.  When we are done with that, we continue flowing our data or ourselves through comments, carnivals, and roundups.
  3. Finally, I believe all of our personalities are shining through our words.  We hope our content will move our readers, in one way or another.  Much like how a painting, a piece of music, or a movie moves audiences, too.

Sounds like art to me. Cool

I'd say writer.  Feels much more like a mix of journalist and artist.

Nice one!
I'd like to think that my blog is a good mix of creative and number crunching. I'm not offering stock tips because I'm not confident enough about that subject yet.

Good point.  We always try to back our sustainable PF with numbers that show we spend less, perhaps the same, as the less sustainable options.
