Hi all,

You guys remember the Secret?  Put thoughts into the universe and it comes true?  I'm beginning to think it may be true…  Thoughts? Smile

Sure, put your thoughts into the universe. What's it going to hurt? But if after taking that step you don't watch for opportunities and take action on those opportunities, then it's likely not much will happen.

Putting your thoughts into the universe (speaking them aloud, sharing them with others, etc.) puts that meme in the active part of your mind and makes you more aware of the possibilities. It's almost the same psychological phenomenon as when you buy a certain car and start to notice more of them on the road. They were there- you just weren't paying attention to them.

This is exactly why I think The Secret does work. It's not wishful thinking, it's simply you putting more of your mental effort toward what you want and then you make it happen because you are focusing on it more.

I never read or watched The Secret, but it seems like a poor man's Think and Grow Rich…now that one I can say definitely works..if you want it to.

The Secret does work – I am not certain how but suspect that it gets us into the mentality that is necessary and the awareness and presence for spotting opportunities we would have otherwise missed. I am surprised at myself writing this but have experimented enough – including I manifested an iPad (don't ask) and this was a bit of a shock.

But why 'the poor man's Think and Grow Rich'? They do share a foundation but otherwise…anyway, I would like to know.

Not sure if it works or not, or if it's just a by product of optimism.

I am a super optimist, perhaps b/c I grew up see a lot of poverty around me overseas.  America is wonderful, and we truly do have it good here for those of us who live here.

Regards,

Sam

The Secret doesn't seem to be working in the stock market right now, haha.  At least for me. Laugh

Well said FCC.  Watching for opportunities and taking action.  The Secret works better as a three step process.  It sounds like you have applied this to yourself.  Good results I'm guessing?

True LaTisha.  Thoughts in the universe without focus will be just that.  Thoughts with no results.

Hi Maria,

Cool, you manifested an iPad?  Several years ago I manifested the MacBook Air I currently use to do my podcasts.  Funny how the universe works.  Hmmm, I should really write a post about it.  Maybe you should too, sounds like an interesting story.  Cool

Have been thinking about it for sometime now – what makes it even more interesting is that the law of attraction (the fundament of the Secret) is only one of six laws of the Universe, apparently. All very ancient mysticism and metaphycics. Probably should do something about it :).

I agree. I always remind myself when something is particularly trying…I could always be starving in another country.

I think using "the secret" is akin to focusing on your goals.  If you focus on and work towards a goal, you're far  more likely to achieve it.
