How do you introduce someone that wants to submit a post for your blog, but is not a blogger?

I have  a friend that wants to write on my blog, but he doesn't have a blog himself.  So there is no backlinking or nothing, but I was wondering how I would introduce this person in the first paragraph.

Do I say it's a guest blog from a friend and do I just categorize him as staff writer or what?

I would categorize him as a guest poster, but for the introduction there is nothing wrong with saying he is a friend who has been inspired to share his story on your blog. Since he's a friend you don't have to be so formal. I think it is wonderful he would want to contribute and your readers probably will as well.

The beautiful thing is that it is your site and you can do it any way that you want to.  There really is no right or wrong way to do it, it is all about personal preference.

Yep, I would just say it's a friend and longtime reader (assuming that's the case *lol*) and leave it at that.  I had a friend of mine contribute an article once, I think to test the waters on whether she wanted to open a blog of her own.  She didn't (at least not in the money genre) but it was still a worthwhile effort.

Thanks for the replies guys… That's what I had in mind initially, but being new to blogging I find myself questioning everything, thank God I have this community. Thanks again.
