Utilize Old Wordpress Site?

Hi all,

Just happened to check the site that started it all, my free Wordpress.com site (bucksaver.wordpress.com).  Perhaps I'm being influenced by other bloggers with multiple sites or perhaps I'm being greedy, but I figure it is still a functioning active site, maybe I can utilize it better rather than let it collect dust.  What would you do if you were in my shoes?  It currently has a Alexa 766,901 and a website grade of 61.

Tune it a bit and apply some SEO magic?

Add new posts and create more links to others here at Yakezie and myself?

Leave it alone in its current state and consider it my Beta site for historical purposes.

Appreciate any feedback. Cool

I'd tune it up and point some links back to your main site but I wouldn't put too much into it unless it really had good traffic behind it.  Better to use your energy towards building your main site.

I wouldn't bother adding new content to it.  I'm of the opinion that it isn't worth developing something you can't take with you.

However, I would definitely add a sitewide link (blogroll, I guess) from the old site to the new one.  There's a link on the homepage through the very last post, but that leaves 105 other pages that aren't giving you that beloved Google juice.  Get greedy.  If time permits, add one link from each post to a new post, or keyword hunt for specific keywords you are targeting at your new blog.

I agree that you shouldn't add new content. I am not sure about WP.com TOS, but if you can put some AdSense on there or at least redirects to the new site that would be good.

It looks like the free Wordpress site doesn't allow AdSense.  Sprucing up the site with fellow blogger badges.  Adds a nice touch and spreading some link love.  Thanks for the advice.

I would use it to drive traffic to my new site.

I would move all the posts to the new site and update the old posts to be redirects.
