Ever heard of the term customer value proposition?
Simply put, a customer value proposition is a short statement explaining your product and why consumers will benefit from it. It's used in business strategy to help identify how to position companies in the marketplace.
So what's your blog's customer value proposition? Why will people read your blog? Is it your SEO skills? Your humor/writing style? Do you know how to leverage social media? Niche content?
I don't think this step is extremely important when you first start out. Instead, networking is the big must in the beginning (which actually could be its own customer value proposition). If you are up against the wall and can't figure out why your site has plateaued, thinking about your customer value proposition would be a good place to examine.
So two things:
First, what's your blog's customer value proposition?
Second, what do you think at least one other Yakezie's customer value proposition is?
I'd always wanted Smart Family Finance to be like the Nate Silver from NYT 538 of the PF blogging world. Hence all the family facts/figures/statistics. However, more recently I've been mixing in current news into my content/titles to make it a little more interesting and expand my presence on google.
Here's a short list from off the top of my head:
The Penny Hoarder: unique content focused on uncommon ways to make money
So Over Debt: entertaining writing style and personal interest with a lot of helpful PF mixed in
Punch Debt in the Face: excellent humor writing that keeps me coming back on a regular basis
