Thanks for the RT! Discussions and ideas about the future direction of the community are very iportant, and interesting. We all have a stake in this. Reminds me of an anonymous quote: It is what it is, but it will be what we make it.

Interesting post … I joined "late in the game" (launched March 2011) but I notice a lot of other PF blogs aren't much older than I am (many have been around 1-2 years). I do think the rough economy has many people thinking, reading and writing about PF, but the skills we discuss are appropriate for ANY economy, so I hope that the lessons we impart to our readers stick with them for life. I was frugal even during the peak of the bubble … that hasn't changed.

I think the PF community, like the rest of the internet, will continue to grow. But there will always be a few leaders. Best start early than late, when the competition gets more intense.
