Hi guys,

Been quite a ride so far!  Was reflecting a bit and remembering how I happened to stumble upon Yakezie.  Kinda tied up right now, but will share when time frees up.  Since I'm a newbie, it's still pretty fresh, but for the writing machines and veterans, do you guys remember how you found your way to Yakezie? Cool

I kept seeing the badge on some of the blogs I read daily and finally just threw myself onto the comment thread at Financial Samurai, lol.

I had a feeling you would be the first. Smile Thanks for getting the ball rolling or it would have been a lonely post.

Back in October I started up a free WordPress blog.  Plowing away and seeing if I could maintain some form of schedule.  I did!  Every once in awhile I would check the front Freshly Pressed page that highlighted different websites of varying topics.  I came across The Wealth Artisan which led to a Yakezie badge who just got Freshly Pressed.  The rest is history.  I just wondered how everyone else got their start.  Kinda like learning how super heroes got their powers or how certain vampires came to be.  Yes, I'm a closet geek. Surprised  Thanks for sharing and if the Wealth Artisan is out there I should thank you, too!

Like Crystal I saw a badge on a few blogs, noticed a few references, read Sam's post , thought about it for a week or so and jumped in. Looking back… I am wondering why did I take a week to think? LOL

Saw the badge initially on some blogs, soon started seeing this on almost all the pf blogs I read!  Finally decided to take the plunge – been great so far!

Only regret?  Why the heck did I wait so long!  Smile

I was reading Financial Samurai's page and saw a post about the Yakezie Challenge this past summer. A bunch of people were trying it out so I figured I would try too. One of the best moves that I ever made.

I was a regular reader of Financial Samurai. When the challenge started I had not started my blog, so I didn't really understand what it was at first. One day I clicked on the golden flower on this sidebar and read about the challenge. Initially I thought I was too little to join any network, so I dragged my feet. Then after seeing that flower in a lot of blogs I read, I decided to join and see if I will fit it. Never looked back… This is an awesome group…

I was another reader of Sam's who waited a month or so and didn't join up until the end of March.  He always had great ideas (like the stock one), but I was not confident to join in.  I'm sure glad I did this time!

Guess those badges do make a difference.  Can't remember how long I waited.  Yeah one of the best decisions I made. Smile

Hello!

One of my frequent commenters (Crystal:)) starting a blog (Budgeting in the Fun Stuff), and joined the challenge. I noticed the badge on her website, but was getting married/planning a wedding at the time. Once I got back from our wedding, I joined up and threw myself back into my blog.

The rest is history!
