Want to improve your blog with Darren Rowse's "31 Days to Build a Better Blog"? Want a group of Yakezie bloggers to bounce ideas off of and encourage? Here's your thread! Feel free to join at any time.
We'll begin Day 1 on September 1. Here's our first task:
Day 1 – Write an Elevator Pitch for Your Blog
Today the
teaching and task revolves around the idea of creating an 'elevator
pitch' for your blog. Today's task comes down to refining what it is
about so that you as the blogger are crystal clear on it and so that
you are able to communicate this to others. Take some time out today to
develop an elevator pitch for your blog. If you’ve already got one take
a few minutes to review and refine it.

Great! Thanks for starting this, I tried to put all the task in one post (I tried to down scale it to 5 days a post, still could not do it). This is good! I am in to start tomorrow!

Are we supposed to post exactly whats on the topic once every 5 days?
So for example, I'm supposed to write an elevator pitch for my blog as a next post?

The original idea was to have all the 31 days' tasks in one single place and for each day's task we come up with our work, like the elevator ptich and post it under "Day 1", so that each of us can critique and help others perfect the work. So I think what we could do is
- We keep all the posts related to the 31DBBB in one place – this thread
- As each of us go through the tasks we post our result, either our pitch or the blog post that we came up with (I think one of the task is writing a list post) to see what others' think if we want.
- We encourage/review/comment on other people's work if we have any ideas to make it better.
- If we get struck, or need help, again we ask here.
- We will have fun going through the tasks whatever way we choose…
I am sure we will make it work as we go…
I will try to split the whole 31 days' tasks and post it, so that it will always stay at the beginning of this thread. If other want to do it in the future it will make it easier I think.
Update: I could post only 1 day per post, that will make it 30 posts. Should I post everything at a time so that it stays on top of the thread or add as we go? What do you guys think?

Personally, I think it would be less confusing if there was one thread for each day of the challenge.

Perhaps an entire section of the private forums dedicated to blog improvement / traffic improvement with a sub-section for things like this and guest posting, etc.
Forums –
Blog Improvement
Traffic Techniques
31 days to a better blog
guest posting tips and tricks
etc. Then you could put 31 threads within the 31 days forum and have it segmented that way? I'm not sure if the forums are capable of that level of function or not. Maybe Sam or Chris can let us know?

Sorry I haven't been back! I had trouble logging in, but I think that's resolved now.
I really like Bucksome Boomer and Breaking Broke's idea of having a thread for each day. That way, as people come in later, they can participate just in the day they're working on, rather than having to wade through one really long thread with all of the days mixed in together. That would make it easier to join in even after the initial 31 days and still find what you're looking for.
I also like having each of us post our results daily so we can support one another and give feedback. We could keep this page for general information about 31DBBB and for related topics that aren't about a specific day.
Should we send out a message to all of the Yakezie bloggers to let them know that we're doing this and where to find it? I would love to have as much participation and feedback as possible, and it's a great way for us to support one another in building better blogs!

Financial Samurai – you don't necessarily have to post it on your blog, but you would post it here and discuss it. Some days have post suggestions, like a list post one day. Others are more internal structure and behind the scenes, like commenting on other blogs and reaching out to a reader.

Okay guys, I'm going to e-mail everyone on the list and invite them to join us on this, and start a new page per day for the project. I really need to put the attention on my own blog and would love to have the feedback while I'm doing it. I'm going to start on Monday and will post a new thread per day here, unless anyone objects.

I think doing the one page per day route is going to work great. I wasn't planning on joining on on the 31 days (I did a lot of it when Darren posted it the first time), but your e-mail gave me the extra push I needed!

Thanks for the email letting me know about this. I've borrowed a couple of the steps before, but I'll have to read over this thread and follow along. I'm always happy to improve!
Thanks,
Timothy
