Do any of you use Adbrite?  I'm considering it for future use on my static site instead of Adsense.  Pros/Cons?

Also, I have finally taken the leap and joined the challenge.  Here is my challenge post:http://familymoneyvalues.blogs…..ining.html

I'm very excited about interacting with all of you here in the forums!

Marie,

I tried Adbrite for another blog of mine. I removed it because their "G" rated ads are much more… well… for lack of a better word… interesting than Adsense. Too many "are you lonely" or " I just broke up with my boyfriend" ads even if the family friendly option was clicked. I removed it and stuck with adsense which so far has not offended me (at least not yet). That is just my experience, may be others had different experience…

I had Suba's problem so I dumped them.  Busty Russian brides are not my idea of family friendly…

To add on to this, I would never go with AdBrite if I could have AdSense…

Thanks all.

College Investor – can you expand on your preference for Adsense over Adbrite?  Better revenue?

Crystal – your reply made me laugh – great way to put it!

Suba – thanks.

Better revenue, better ads (more advertisers), everything is better.  AdBrite is second place to Google by far.  I would only use it if it was your only contextual advertising option.

I've also tried Adbrite. Did not make much, if any, money off of it. I never had the experience of explicit ads, but that does sound bad!

I use Adbrite.  I chose it because I like the CPM option (my visitors tend to be 'loyal followers' more than search engine visitors, so CPC doesn't convert so well).  When I started, it paid really well for CPM.  Sadly, as my daily page views grows, the payment is reducing a lot.  I am wanting to ditch them and go with private ads, once I can get a couple lined up.

Oh, and i have started getting the Russian dating service ads lately, which has me beyond angry.   I reject them as soona s I see them.

That said, here is what I do like about Adbrite:

1.) CPM option – make money even if no one clicks

2.) Ability to reject ads if you don't like them or if they offer a competitor's service

3.) Easy to use

I tried it a few years ago and hated it.  I ad the same problem with the quality of the ads and the ad rates were crap too.  It didn't make sense for me.

I'm digging my way out of some serious debt at

The ad quality is horrible. I would stick with Adsense.

Sounds like I just need to wait until I get traffic up enough to use Adsense.

Now if I can just get my $#$%! sig line in this forum to behave, I will be all set!

Thanks all.

I've never used AdBrite but I started getting clicks right away with AdSense. The ads are relevant and that's what is important.

That 's true Latisha. Adsense is the best because you get more relevant ads which leads to higher conversions.

Thanks for offering to help! - I went in and took out the spacing on the left that I assumed was needed and it centered itself.  I guess it is ok now.

When i started out I used adbrite right away. never made more than a dollar every couple of days, but it turned out to be more of a hassle than I wanted. The ads were not relevant at all to my content or site. I would suggest applying for adsense pretty good cash, and as long as you dont have any dead pages on your site you should be fine with getting approved. – Gene
