Hey all… especially you techies out there.  This 5 week old newbie here at Yakezie is wondering… I was going to add some advertising widget (WP-125) into my site, but where I want to put it, my theme won't allow apparently.  I was told,

i see, the problem is that In Text Widgets you cannot execule PHP code such as:
<?php wp125_write_ads(); ?>
You would need a shortcode of some sort for that. I'm not sure that the WP-125 offers a shortcode.
You might have to try to find some other ads plugins that offers shortcodes that you can insert anywhere in your content.

Now, I don't really know what he's talking about… but…

Does WP-125 offer short code?  Or, is there a better widget I should consider?

Thanks!!

You can try the billboard plugin in. It works pretty well and you can customize how it displays.

Thanks Sustainable PF… I looked at them, but I have no clue how I would use them?  Any hints or is this beyond me?

Do the plugins typically mentioned in the forums work only for wordpress or could they be used in blogger or Joomla! as well?

Get the plugin, activate it, stick it in the sidebar and add code – click save.  That's what I did ….

I used WP-125 with no problems. You shouldn't have to manipulate any code to use it. Just plug in the image and URL on the widget setting and drop the widget in the sidebar.

Yes, I can plug in WP-125 in my sidebar… and I love it.  The problem is, that is not where I want it on my new site… and where I want it, apparently I can't have it?  I figured there must be a way though… so I thought I'd ask.  Thanks all for your ideas… I may have to settle for it in the sidebar.
