I realize every site/blog is different, but I am interested in learning how Alexa rankings equate to traffic. So, what is a ballpark range for traffic to a site/blog once it hits..say the 200,000 milestone?

Because Alexa is ranked by the number of Alexa toolbar users, the traffic can be completely different. I'm not as fab in SEO as bloggers with sites who are ranker higher with Alexa. However, I just recently fell below 200K and my stats are 16,600PVs and about 7500 Unique Visitors.

I don't think you can draw any conclusions at all about traffic level using Alexa. PFW get about 20k page views per month and has an Alexa rank of about 125k. I have another site that gets 50k page views per month and has an Alexa rank of 2 million+

I agree with everyone else. My Alexa rank at Narrow Bridge is sitting around 220k right now. My Alexa rank on my Israel blog (which gets about double the traffic) is currently 5.2 million.

Alexa definitely has some meaning considering the top sites are Google, Facebook, etc. but like those above have said, there's not a definite answer. I know I've seen some sites with more traffic than Funancials but a higher Alexa.

Mark,
I am also wondering about Alexa rank and associated traffic figure. I've tried on Google to find info but there's no public stat that you can view to get some basic idea.

There is very little or no relation between Alexa rank and traffic. Since I have installed the Alexa toolbar I am also visiting an old blog of my on a daily basis. According to GA that blog does barely receive any other visitors.
Just my own visits have driven that blog from "no rank" to around "1,500,000".
Another blog I use as test had little traffic, and no rank before. Now it is on 735,000 (this blog is not part of Yakezie) and improving.
Thus just 10 people who have the Alexa toolbar installed and who visit your site every day, can bring down your Alexa ranking a lot.
That is nice, but does not give you any traffic.
What I am not sure of is if Google takes the Alexa ranking into account when defining how high your site should rank on the search results. If they would do that, a better Alexa ranking could lead to more traffic. But since it is rather easy to get a better Alexa ranking, I do not think Google will use it.

They basically don't relate at all. That's one reason why I wondered why Yakezie focused so much on the Alexa ranking. It's easy to manipulate and doesn't mean your site is getting a lot more traffic.

The biggest thing it shows is that you are active in the community and being visited by Yakezie bloggers regularly

I think Eric summed it up best.

If all of us have the toolbar, and all of us visit each other's blogs then your rank will improve.
I think Alexa also claims they get data from other sources but they don't disclose what those other sources are..

As others have said, Alexa ranking does not translate into a specific amount of traffic. It is just dependent on how many views occur with the alexa toolbar installed. So it is very easy to artificially inflate. Just by having other bloggers visit your site, your alexa ranking is bound to improve. It is fairly accurate for the very top sites and is a good general gauge of popularity. I think some advertisers take it into consideration and that is why yakezie focuses on it so much. Or maybe people just don't want to disclose actual traffic numbers.
