Anything to do with Bing and Amazon partnership here? Just a guess though, connecting the dots.

 

Alexa is run by Amazon, Bing is the default SE for Kindles. And Alexa announced "few more data points" that determines the ranking. 

Could it be Bing (MS) sending them stats…??

Mine has also gone up from around 80k at its lowest upto about 160k now.

 

If Pauline's suspicions are correct, and Alexa ranking is more than just other people with Alexa installed, this has to be a good thing overall. In fact, it seems that its now a more important measure than it was in the past as an overall indicator of site popularity, rather than being so easily manipulated by increasing the frequency of comments on other peoples' blogs…
