I checked my Alexa rank over 2 days, and noticed that it dropped from 10,113,000 to 5,164,917 in just 2 days. I'm happy to see that it dropped that significantly, but I'm also puzzled and a little nervous. I thought that it would take a lot longer. Plus, I didn't do much for it to drop by so much that quickly. Is this normal? Has anyone else here experienced this? Just curious.

Congrats on the drop.

Keep posting good content, networking, and commenting on other sites, and your rank will continue to plummet.

Of course, the lower you go– the harder it will get.

Yes it won't keep that rate up. The lower you go, the harder it becomes to get any lower. Once you get under a million it will start to become more gradual. Still you must have been working hard to drop it by so much. Well done!

I thought as much. The drop got me pretty motivated. Yes, I will keep posting good content, networking, and commenting on other sites. Thanks for the advice.

I see. I wan't aware that it wouldn't continue to drop at that rate, and that it gets harder the lower it drops. Thank you for the information and encouragement.

Well done but…

This is how it goes at the begining and I think it is because your Alexa rank also depends on what everyone else is doing. To put it simply, it is more likely for blogs to drop out with a rank of 10 million than 100,000. What I found was that the drop was slower in the 300K and now the movement in any direction was really slow.

Good content, networking and guest writing still play (as the things you can do).

That's a great drop. As others have said, at the beginning the drops occur much faster. Once you get under 500k, those massive drops won't happen as often, but you can still move in the right direction!

Thanks, Maria. I suspected that the drops are normally faster for ranks in the 10-million range. And, I think someone else in the thread mentioned that the drops are much slower when you drop below 1 million. I appreciate your suggestions, and will take them to heart.
