Announcing a New Kind of Carnival- Starts June 2011 | Bloggers Lair | Yakezie Forums

Hello fellow Yakezie

Today I have announcement to make. I have started a new carnival but this one has a twist. The carnival is called the "Link Love Carnival." 

I had taken a break from my weekly pics for a while because I wanted to change them into something that was in the spirit of what this network stands for: "selflessly helping others". I really wanted to ramp up the power of giving and charity at Prairie Eco-Thrifter.com. So, I came up with the idea for the Link Love Carnival. 

It's called the Link Love carnival because in order to have a link included in the weekly roundup, you have to send some "love", aka "donate" to the charity of the month. At the end of each month, I will post a summary of how much we raised together for that given charity. The carnival tagline is "bloggers for a better world" which I think fits perfectly. And don't worry, the donation requirement is not huge, only $2 a week, $8 a month. 

This carnival will of course operate on the honour system when it comes to making your donation. I know you are all awesome and trustworthy and in effort to keep our personal information confidential, I think this is the best route. I hope I am right.

The first edition of the carnival will be posted on June 3rd with a submission deadline of June 2nd at 2pm CST. The link to the carnival is http://blogcarnival.com/bc/cpr…..13726.html. 

The charity for the month of June will be the Lance Armstrong Foundation. All of us know someone who has had or is living with cancer, so lets band together in June and help find a cure.
