Howdy Folks,
Anybody upgrade to WP 3.9 and experience any problems like a blank post page or image editing problems?
I haven't upgraded yet, b/c it seems like every time I upgrade to a big one there is some issue that pops up.
Thoughts on never upgrading to 3.9? Does it really matter, even from a security standpoint?
We were at 3.1 just a year ago or so after all.
Thx,
Sam

I'm on 3.9 – Love the new, media editing features!
It runs incredibly smooth right now. I didn't have any issues on upgrade.

The only issue I've seen with the new features is that if I want to edit text right next to an image, WP thinks I'm trying to resize the image and automatically highlights it with a crop feature. It's a bit frustrating and instead I have to work in text view. Other than that, I haven't had any other issues.

I was thinking about not updating myself actually. I'm cautious of it because it wants me to back up all of my stuff before I do so. But hearing that no one else is having issues is encouraging. I will probably update now.

Bre, baking up is just a precaution in case something goes horribly, horribly wrong, which pretty much never happens. It is the standard advice when updating any piece of software. WordPress will warm you to backup first with every update, no matter how minor.

I'm looking for editors, beta-readers, and some demographic research for my upcoming novel, Once Upon a Saturn Moon. If you like reading soft sci-fi thrillers, maybe with a touch of romance thrown in, you can find more information at http://seampublishing.com/once…..aturn-moon

I've updated and it looks really smooth. I'm currently suffering a problem with facebook not reading my posts to automatically share the link/photo, but I'm not sure that this is related to the upgrade.
Has anyone else noticed this problem (even now or in the past) ??

I have the same issue with FB not loading the link with picture automatically too. No idea.
Good to hear no big problems with WP 3.9 so far.
We should continue to have threads with major updates. Most of what breaks in WP are due to plugins and WP update conflicts.

For me, the issue came from multiple occurrences of og:url being created from Yeost SEO. To fix this, I had to remove the link that Yeost made to the facebook and twitter in the settings page.
In trying to fix my problem, I found this which was very useful: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug
Additionally, I had issues with WP-cache plugin which I have had to disable.

I updated every site on release day and all has been fine. It isn't always vital to upgrade to the .x versions (eg 3.8, 3.9) but whenever there is a new version like .x.x (eg 3.8.2, 3.8.3) those are very important for site security.
