Howdy Folks,

Looks like there's a lot of talk about blogs being affected by the latest Panda update. Private Blog Network participants have been real big targets. Google said their latest change affects 3-5% of search terms, which is A LOT based on previous updates of 1-2%.

I haven't noticed anything on FS. Slight rebound in traffic from August doldrums (-20%), but nothing too exciting. What are you guys seeing? PS, I don't build any links to FS.

Regards,

Sam

I am not seeing any drop, but have seen a few of my older articles get some more love in the SERPs.  That being said, I am not part of any blogging network with regards to sharing links or guest posts.

It's strange because over the last 14 days I've seen a 200% increase in my organic traffic. Although the recent Panda update could be partly responsible, I cannot be sure?

Not complaining though! Laugh

No apparent change for me. I have actually received more traffic in the last two weeks, but I attributed much of that to various articles of mine that were mentioned by high-volume sites.

Eric, I wonder if niche sites will go away now in masses.

I read a few articles about the update and that is exactly the impression I got. If you have loads of quality content, your site was either not affected or has actually seen an increase in traffic. For those sites that have weak or very little content, those took a dive – ie. niche sites are going to be hurting once again.

No change on either sites, if anything a slight uptick on make money your way.

But I have had a couple of contacts ask me if Yakezie was hurt in the Private Blog Network update.

Got affected by the last one, then again by this one, neither in a good way.  It's discouraging.  I feel I put out good content.  Definitely nothing that should be considered niche.

Yakezie.com hasn't been impacted. It's actually never been impacted since it started in Dec, 2009. But Yakezie.com has also not grown either like FinancialSamurai.com.

Yakezie.com is always going to be a place for bloggers to hang out and share ideas. There's no aggressive monetization strategy or anything. I'm happy to just keep the site up to be useful to knew and veteran bloggers b/c I know how difficult it is to find help sometimes.

This sucks. Sorry to hear. How is the blog ad campaign participation going? It's pretty risky business now.

I didn't know about the update. My traffic went up in Sept., which was a surprise as I was in Spain for half the month. Maybe my decision to halt all paid posts and carnivals helps.

Who knows?
