Howdy Folks,
Anybody use the Shareholic plugin and find that when they tweet something, it hangs up and says "try again, cloud is busy" or what not? I was thinking this might be just my set up since I had an old theme and have a 2007 Macbook, but the issue continues to happen with a new system.
It looks like a Tweet does get posted even though it pinwheels for a while then says "try again."
Thoughts and solutions?

I posted about this, unknowingly in the private forums, but it seems that it's just a stinker of a plugin that is prone to failure reguarly. I think I have ShareThis and I've never had a complaint nor have I ever had a problem posting via another blog who runs that plugin.

Interesting. I never had this issue before until about several months ago, and I've used this plug-in for a couple years now.
Maybe they'll just update it. Love to hear more feedback from anybody with similar experiences and solutions.

I used to use Shareholic but had nothing but issues with it. So I ditched it and put and opt-in form in my posts with social media embedded within.

Adding @ mentions to Jetpack requires an extra (very small) plugin. I wish they would add in the feature, but not yet. The one I used it called "Jetpack Twitter Via" by Konstantin Obenland.

Getting the WordPress folks to admit that something needs to be added to the code is like pulling teeth. Whenever I've suggested something, I've always gotten a response that it would be too confusing to non-technical users and there is a plugin. If they had their way, a blog would use about 400 plugins.

I have had issues with Shareaholic on multiple sites. It always fails the first time you hit the button. You have to do it again after it fails. I hate that plugin and when I see it, I just go to Hootsuite to push the article. I reached itout to them over Twitter, but they didn't say anything. It doesn't matter what computer I am on or site, the plugin just doesn't do what it is supposed to.

I noticed some other people saying they were blaming it on some of the sharing sites API, but I don't buy it.

I've been meaning to replace my Shareholic plugin but I haven't gotten around to it yet. Is this jetpack thing you're talking about a Genesis specific feature or a plugin by itself?

I've never been able to use Shareaholic to share posts, I've always gotten the message about problems in the cloud. I even emailed the Shareaholic people about it and after a few weeks they emailed me back to say they'd fixed it, but I tried it out and it's still not fixed for me. I've given up on it and if I really want to tweet someone's post and all they have is Shareaholic icons, I copy and paste the tweet into my Twitter account and tweet it that way. It's too bad that plugin doesn't work, since in my opinion they have the nicest-looking social sharing buttons.

Like Grayson said, I've been held up by the Shareaholic plugin at many sites I read. Very frustrating. Sometimes I avoid sharing from those sites; if I really like the article I will send it through Hootsuite. I'm using ShareThis for my site with no problems.

I've had a different problem with Shareholic. When I go to tweet a link to the post, I get a popup window asking me to authorize my twitter account. I get a message that the account is already linked.
I just send out a link manually on twitter, very frustrating!
