Is it as easy as dropping in the ad code into a desired area of choice and voila?
Is it supposed to take some time to work, b/c I tried and all I see is the ad, where they say only search engine traffic sees the ad.
Thx, Sam

Tried it briefly when we launched the site but I wasn't fond of it.

I tried it for about a month and had no success. Plus, I didn't like the way it looked on my blog.

I tried briefly but the targeting was horrible (and not so family friendly even though I checked all those boxes). It earned pennies compared to adsense and totally not worth it. You would be much better off putting adsense or an affiliate ad.

Chitika is pretty bad for a personal finance blog. I believe it's more guided towards product based websites. Could be good if you're reviewing netbooks or something.

OK, thanks for the feedback. Figured I better test out all these various platforms first. I don't know why the Chitika ads show up when they aren't supposed to for normal users.
Guess it would be good for niche sites that seem to be quite popular nowadays.

I'd steer clear of them as well. Terrible payouts and bad ads.

Chitika was one of the first networks that I tried. The ads never work as they claim. They show to both search engine traffic and regular visitors.

Agreed. i tried chitika with a different blog I started, with no success. Also, I hated the popups that came through when you scrolled over the ad text. Very intrusive, and not my cup o tea.

I used them for a while, but they were terrible. Rates were terrible, and so was CTR. Ads are mostly irrelevant.

I agree with Tony – the rates are generally terrible and the ads weren't relevant to the content at all.

My experience was similar to others' experience. The ads didn't pay much and weren't relevant. The only good thing was they had a $10 payout threshold so I got my $10 payment and took down the ads.

Lots of ringing endorsements here!
I'm glad I never bothered to sign up to this one, even though I had heard of it and thought about it before.

I'm sad I won't be retiring early thx to Chitika!
Gotcha, will play around and see what's up. A rep contacted me….. So it's nice to have some service.

Chitika is great for a product based blog, but not a service based blog. I read that Darren Rowse does well with Chitika on DPS but does not both with it a Problogger. I am helping a friend start a site about bike racing and think Chitika would do well there, but my friend starting a site about non-profits shouldn't waste his time.
