Yeah, I don't get that at all. Let me know if I can help. I'm emailing you a virtual drink. :-)

I just thought of something ironic. I just got an email from one of my advertisers that they were reallocating their advertising dollars and they discontinued all four ads. Wouldn't it be funny if I got punished for my text links and over half are gone now?

It can't be your links. I have the same ones. If it is your links, that's just stupid. :-(

Not sure how my site went up to 2, yet Kris saw hers go to 1. Very inconsistent. I still think MozRank should be promoted more as its been updated more often and seemingly more reliable. This update hasn't changed my viewpoint on the subject, though it does show that PR isn't going away in the short term.

Yeah, I'm with you on that one! I know that my site isn't on the level of most others who posted in this thread, but I still expected a little more than a 1!

Yeah, I would have thought you'd gone up to at least a 2 Khaleef…maybe even 3. But it takes time and links from high PR sites. Hopefully some of my link juice will leak through to you!
@Sustainable PF: It takes a while to build up a higher PR. I've been at this for almost two years and was stuck at 2 or 3 for a long time.
@Squirrelers: I don't see PR going away any time soon either, but who knows what Google's got up its sleeve.

You guys got me all excited…and then I found out I went from a 4 to a 3.
I'll take it though…I got LUCKY with that 4. I had just started TFS and had quite a few really good links from high PR sites.

I was just using free backlink checkers I could find on Google, lol. What were you using Jason?

From what I understand, quality of backlinks is more important than number of backlinks. Higher numbers help make your PR more resilient, but you need high quality backlinks to boost it up.

Ouch, it could be the text links. I know Crystal said hers didn't seem to affect her, but I wonder if her PR would have been higher without them.
I'm still leary of text links because of what I've read on other sites. But it's hard not to consider them after seeing what some of you all have been able to bring in with them. Adsense is providing me with more than just pennies, but not as much as I could get for text links.

I use Yahoo Site Explorer. https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/mysites. Add your site, but don't bother validating. The explore the site, click inlinks, and select 'view inlinks except from this domain'.
Keep in mind, any backlink count you see from any source is low. Google's webmaster tools lies. The different software packages have varying levels of accuracy, but are never right. Search engines lie so nobody can figure out exactly what their algorithm is.

True. Backlinks from high PR sites help. PR3 links help about 10 times more than PR2 links, which help about 10 times more than PR1 links.
