I submitted my site to Technorati when I began publishing on a custom domain. (I've since had to move back to publishing on a .blogspot domain with a DNS Forward due to some issues with my Domain Host- but that's another matter)
When I submitted my site to Technorati, I did the standard- jumped through their hoops to verify the site, etc. After all of that, within my profile it states that my site has been approved and to expect the site to appear in the Technorati listings within 24-48 hours.
It's been about 3 weeks, and the site doesnt appear in the search results pages (Although the .blogspot version does).
Has anyone else had these kinds of issues with Technorati? Or is it because of the DNS Forward that I have set up?
The main reason I ask (and I'll be honest) is because the lack of a Technorati rank for the http://www.compoundingreturns.com site address is causing my site to be ranked fairly low in many of the PF Blogs rankings.
Any advice? I'm still very new at all of this stuff. A month ago, I didn't even know what a DNS Forward was…

It takes much longer than 2 days; more like 2 months. One day you suddenly are more than a 1.

Yeah, it takes a while. If I were you, I wouldn't really focus on it. It's one of those things that is important, but not important all at the same time. It's good to have, but it's not going to make or break your site. Just focus on the content of you site and reach out in as many ways as you can in order to get your name out there: guest posting, commenting, signing up your site to search engines, and making friends here at Yakezie. Those are the biggies.

I tried Technorati 2 years ago, and could never figure it out, so I stopped bothering. Are they even relevant anymore? I never hear about them.
thx

I recently applied to Technorati. Once I did all the verification steps, I waited about a week before I was approved. Since then, it seems like I've been getting at least some traffic through there. Seems worth it to me.
I haven't really looked at my rankings or anything on there related to my blog, so I can't comment in that area.

Technorati is not a very relevant site anymore, but I list all of my blogs there for the back-links and rare instance I get a little traffic.
