I've been contacted by Adbeans about advertising on my site. Has anyone worked with them? What was your experience? I'm wondering if it could hurt my PR?

Sandy (or anyone who have used adbeans), how does it work? is it CPC? or they pay a fixed amount every month that you negotiated? Or is it based on how many times the link/ad is displayed?

I agree with Sandy. It's a great advertiser.

The way my account is set up, I get paid every time a link is posted in an article. The plugin checks your content for certain keywords, and will randomly (I think) insert a link.

Sandy
I too have installed this but nothing shows up on the site. How do I know if it's working?

Does one have to be contacted by them to sign up?

It doesn't show up every single time. That's the beauty of it. It only shows up like once every fourth visit or so. Most of the time it doesn't show up when I visit. It pays a set amount monthly that you negotiate with them. Reminds me to revisit. ;)

I was contacted by adbeans recently, and the price they offered was ridiculous.

Ridiculous good or ridiculous bad? The price they're quoting me seems pretty attractive. I'm just worried about my PR.

I get spam emails from AdBeans every now and then, asking me to sign up. Last time I sent them my canned email response, explaining that I don't sell text links… but they just emailed straight back with a lengthy blurb about how AdBeans worked etc.. It seems to me that if you sign up for AdBeans, you are essentially granting them a licence to paste bought links all over your blog, sending your Google penalty risk sky-high. But I haven't been inclined to pursue this further, so please correct me if I am wrong.

Julie, from the price they sent me and the fact that Amanda is actually mentioning it, I will say it is ridiculous bad. At least the rate they sent me was. I would never accept that rate. I am debating whether there is any point in negotiating with them as the starting point is too low…
Also they seemed to have changed the ad model. Now they want to advertise incontent or at the bottom of the post. It adds a paragraph at the bottom, a big sentence with 1 link. So it will be bad for the readers to continue reading as part of the post. And it add that for every single post. They also sent me 80 permanent links as another option. That was a ridiculously low amount too.

Yes, they have multiple options to choose from and it's kind of confusing. I'm still trying to figure the whole thing out.

Their starting point was less than half of what I settled for. 80 links sold me, even if the per-link price was a bit low. Unfortunately, the keywords they have given me so far kind of stink. Not bad, just odd. Real estate in Turkey?

Check your inbox. I received an e-mail from them on June 14. I haven't made the change.

I had a deal with them from about a year ago and pretty much forgot about it until this thread. I just received an email from them asking about advertising. I wonder if they are going to present this new model to me. I also have to check and see if I have any money that needs to be transferred. If they are going to ask for all of that and still offer a low amount, I definitely won't take it!
