In Joomla – which I use for my site, there is functionality to split your article so that the part above the split appears on a page and a "Read more" line is inserted which is a link to the full article.

 

Do any of you folks using Blogger know of a way to do that in Blogger?

There is a little icon in Blogger that allows you to insert a break:
