SPF, I can always see your add to both clicking through the reader and direct.

As RB40 mentioned, may not work in Atahualpa.  I'll dig into it.

There is an easier plugin that you should consider. It is called WhyDoWork for Adsense. It allows you set a number of days that your posts will be ad-free and then it places Adsense ads in specified locations afterwards. In other words, lets say you set it up so that for the first 7 days after a new post there will be no adds at the top or bottoms of your post. On the 8th day this plugin will automatically put ads at the top and bottom. The idea is that regular readers will have already read your post ad free and wont mind if they come back later and there is ad there later on. Check it out…

I installed WhyDoWork for Adsense and have it set for 5 days without adsense and then have an ad at the top of the post.  Made $4.80 this past month on adsense.

I had a bunch of affiliate ads (9) in side-bar which I recently removed thanks to some great advice from this forum.  They were a distraction for the reader and not adding value so I got rid of them.

Thanks for this option.  I'm starting to get advertisers writing me, wanting to something similar.  They seem to pay [Price edited] by moderator] per link… but this seems high?  Anyone able to clarify how they are doing this or is this just some kinda sales pitch?

I don't have that big of a reader base but the readers i do have return pretty frequently.

I don't have ads on my blog – and I don't intend to montize with anything like Adsense (I have other sites for that). The way I see it, those ads are like exit points – and I want to keep my readers on my site.

A while back, I did some testing and added a few adsense blocks to post that was bringing in substantial amounts of new traffic – I found that the click through rate was very low for some reason. So I decided to keep ads off.
