Have you ever wondered what the best time to post is? I have… sometimes I wonder if my early morning posts get swallowed by the huge number that are schedule for an overnight release. Other times, I think, Saturday would be good… but my traffic is lowest on Saturdays it seems… when I though more people would have time to look around. On occasion, I think, why not mid-day… perhaps it is one of the only posts to show up then… so it would get noticed.
I can't say I've discovered any pattern… except to say my weekend posts seem to be a waste… traffic drops off on Saturday/Sunday.
How about you… do you sense a pattern? Do you find one time of day is better than another, or one day of the week better than the other?

For me, early in the week seems to get the highest impact, like Mon/Tues. Things taper off after that, but are still solid through early Friday. Saturday is the lowest traffic day. Sunday is a wildcard, sometimes low but sometimes pretty solid. I think that if you post every other day, Sunday might be an underrated day to post.

It seems like some of the lower ranked blogs post once in the morning and once in the evening. But they have too feed the content beast. A very successful blog. Budget in the fun stuff seems to post M-F at 6:00am. So until I'm as successful and have the same number of guest poster I will mimic a MWF 6:00am schedule.

I prefer to do one on monday, and then thursday. It evens out the post schedule, and monday and thursday (including friday) seem to be the busiest days.

Mondays and Wednesdays have always been my busiest days. That's why I now post on Mon/Wed/Fri/Sun. It's best to keep a consistent schedule – your readers will like that.

I try to schedule my posts for between 6-7Am as well. I've switched it where I have them go mid-day or the evenings and it doesn't make much of a difference in the end, but I figure consistency is key.
Saturday/Sunday always drop off quite a bit from the week unless I get featured in a roundup on a high traffic site.

I do (try to) maintain M-W-F-S posting schedule. I schedule all my posts early morning, around 5-7AM EST. I tried late evening posting as well, but there wasn't much difference.

My traffic in general is the highest between Monday – Thursday every week…as far as time of day, I find it doesnt matter much, traffic comes from many different timezones…so in the end, someone is always awake to view the site if they wish.

I really don't see the point of worrying about what time a post should go live.
I say, when your post is ready, publish it. The earlier you publish it, it will get indexed quicker and start showing up in Google searches. That's what you really want, right?
As far as your subscribers are concerned, they will get to ready it sometime anyway. It doesn't have to be the minute you publish it.

Quite honestly I couldnt have said it better myself. I have seen too many threads about day/time a post should be published… it will get read regardless, I think the only way you hurt yourself is when you go a couple weeks without publishing anything and readers begin to assume you have given up.

I generally try to schedule posts for early in the morning (5 am), but that's only when I'm on top of things enough to have posts scheduled. Otherwise, I just post it when it's ready.

Generally true. I have only seen difference in terms of traffic from PFBlogs.org. If you post early morning, traffic from this is almost none. on the other hand if you post in afternoon or evening, when new posts don't usually come, you'll get more hits.
I see traffic increase four times a day, Early morning, During Eastern lunch time, during west coast lunch time and during 9PM to 1 AM eastern. Any one else notice this pattern?

I normally schedule my posts to publish at midnite (Pacific time) each day. I do this to have it up for various time zones. That way everyone can have access.

I schedule mine usually at 1am Pacific Time. I'm surprised how many East Coasters check out my site within an hour of a new post! Some early risers!

Interesting all… it does seem we have similar experiences.
I even launched my giveaway on Saturday… only to find the same results… oh, well, better for those that entered today!

Mine are scheduled in WP between 1 and 2am but I don't know how it works for RSS etc. It really depends on what time zone the reader is in for when they get your post. I do find early in the morning works well.

Tonight reminds me of another point… special occasions (i.e. valentine's day, halloween, etc.) are often not high traffic days due to the other commitments. Agree?

My traffic yesterday actually held up pretty well compared to most Mondays.
