Do you all develop your own logos or did you have someone make one for you? I definitely need to get one, but I have no ability to make one.

I made my own, but I am also a graphic designer so that aspect of developing my site was easy for me. And while I am happy ith my logo now, it was not my original one and I was not real happy with the first one I came up with.

There's a program called Paint.net that is awesome for logo creation. If you don't want to design your own, LogosforWebsites is a great resource. he's designed header images/twitter backgrounds ect. for a number of PF sites out there. Good luck!
PS- I'm designing my own right now, getting my creative juices flowing haha.

Peter from Bible Money Matters runs a logo website (the link is on the bottom of his page) if you go through his archive I think you'll be SHOCKED how many people used him in the PF niche

Thanks for all the responses! I am probably going to reach out to someone to create a logo for me. My skills in MS Paint won't cut it either…

99 Designs is popular. You get a bunch of bids from different designers and pick the one you like best. I have not used it yet, but have heard great things. It is cheaper than most professional design options.

I created my own logo, and I've been pretty happy with it, though it is relatively simple. I think a good looking website is important to keep new visitors, so getting one made is an option if you feel unable to do it yourself.
With that said, I use GIMP, which is an open software graphics program. It takes a few days to figure things out, since it is based on a Unix platform, but it can do everything photoshop can, just for about $500 less. If you're not interested in spending the time and effort on it, that's understandable. But if you plan on continuing with your online life, it may be worthwhile to learn, for future projects.

Peter at Logos for Websites is awesome! I've used him as well as many others. He's affordable and has a quick turn-around.
Plus he's one of us!

Don't pay to have your logo designed! I'm saying that adamently because i believe you shouldn't pay for something you can easily do yourself. Download paint.net and start designing. you can use cool artistic options to change up your text. For fonts, I recommend Font Squirrel. hit me up if you have questions, I actually just finished my current logo. Hope this helps brotha!

My wife designed the logos and headers for both of my sites! Then Pete from Logos for Websites touched up the banner on KNS Financial for me. I am really satisfied with both sites – I don't have an artistic bone in my body!

Not sure how i missed that before, but yes, i run http://www.biblemoneymatters.com and http://www.logosforwebsites.com in addition to smart on money. I'd be happy to help people out with logos – i've done a ton of them for personal finance bloggers in the past 3 years.
I think a header design is an easy and affordable way to make your site that much more awesome, and i highly recommend getting one! (of course I'm slightly biased. ) ;)

I made my own, but if I were to pay I'd probably pick logosforwebsites.
I did pay someone $5 to design one for a site I'll be unveiling tomorrow, but it wasn't exactly what we wanted which is my fault so I didn't use it. The designer would have made revisions but I felt bad asking for that when I only paid $5. My sister ended up making the one we're using.

Hello!
My logo splat (which I LOVE!!!!) was originally a gray/blue color splat with a premade theme. I hired a graphic design person for about $20 off of warrior forum (leo aljiro if you are interested) and he colored it and added in my photo to the header. Yay!
