Hey all,
Thought I would let you know that Phil posted the location of the blogger conference.
http://www.financialbloggercon…..chaumburg/
I already reserved my room :) If any of the locals know anything about the location, I was wondering if you could share with us…
I reserved a room with two doubles in case anyone wants to save money and share a room.
See you there!

Well, Schaumburg is out in suburbia but offers up tons of restaurants as well as shopping – Woodfield Mall is there, which is Chicago's largest and was the country's largest back in the 70's when it opened.
It's a good location for the conference in my opinion, based on what it offers and proximity to O'Hare for those flying. I'm cool with this choice.

Thanks for the update md! I'll have to look into this conference! I think it's only a few hours from my house. :)

I'm very pleased with the location – close enough to the city, but far enough away that I don't have to drive downtown. I'm planning to book a double room as well.

If you've got AAA, the advance price for the room is $80.
Edit: I was wrong, that's just the nonrefundable advanced purchase rate.

I saw that the location was choosen! I think that is a good central location. I don't know if my graduate school salary will allow me to attend with having to fly from Virginia, but it sure looks like there will be an awesome turnout.

I have not booked a room yet, but I am looking for someone to share with. Might as well save a few bucks. We are PF bloggers after all.

Anyone feel ambitious enough to figure out a good way to show people who are willing to share rooms or who are looking for rooms?

How about a spreadsheet, with a tab for women and one for men? And perhaps a column for light sleepers and one for snorers/snore friendly, to avoid pairing the two?

All these conference comments are making me jealous — I wish I could be in two places at once, because I've already got another event on that same date!

Great! I added the light sleeper/ snorer, as I've been in shared room situation where a person didn't sleep because of their noisy roommate and that's no fun for anyone!

There should be a coed tab on the spreadsheet.

I am the ambitious one! One tab for men, one tab for women. Not sure if we need to add any more columns.

Great idea. I already have a roomie but agree it's the way to go to cut expenses and get to know another PF blogger better.

So far, I'm the only girl on the list. Anyone else need a roommate?
