I just blogged grumpy.  And I sort of feel that there should be a carnival of grumpiness…or at least a weekly venting.  Does that seem weird…or just annoying?  Like, if I were to collect guest posts and published a vent once a week…is that too much negativity?  Oh well, let me know what you think.

Island, I don't think there is any problem with blogging grumpy every once in a while, but remember that all the "experts" say that people would rather read happy writing.  Personally, I'm right there with you, but you can't fix stupid as they say.  I would say that a grumpy post every so often show readers that you care, get bothered, and are basically human.

Yeah, I think you might be right. Once in a while is better. I was thinking about a gai shan life's grumpy post and thinking about how much people enjoyed that one. Probably best to keep that to once in a while. It does show human-ness though. We're not just robots!

I'm trying not to be grumpy or negative because I'm finally realizing blogging isn't about me, but what insights I can bring. Although I've read some grumpy/whiny posts that are hilarious and intriguing. So do what feels right!

Side note, a gai shan life's blog is incredible. She needs to write a book or screenplay.

I like to go on a good rant every now and then. I try to keep a joking tone so it's not totally pissy, but I think it's natural to get pissy sometimes. If you're all sunshine and roses and never express aggravation or grumpiness, people will wonder if you're real.

I like to complain a lot on my blog. When I edit it, I try to make it a little funny, but I'm not always successful. I don't mind reading grumpy posts, if they're amusing :)

I think it's ok, and let's face it: nobody is 100% super thrilled and cheerful every minute of the day. Showing this side makes us more compelling reads, I think.

I kinda do the same thing that you do, without knowing it I rant on for a while, it really helps to be able to write away grumpiness

I love a grumpy post now and then especially when it comes from a writer that's not grumpy very often.

I think blogging grumpy is fine every once and a while. I feel like it shows who a writer is; if someone is always writing about sunshine and rainbows and unicorns, then it doesn't always feel real to me. We all have multiple sides to our personalities and when you show those, you connect with your readers on a different level, which I think is a good thing.

Yes- absolutely blog grumpy! Grumpy is okay…even mad or angry are fine. Sharing a full range of emotions (while writing) is difficult for a lot of people (including me).

Usually my interest wanes when I read hate-filled ramblings.
