That's a great accomplishment. I was amazed at the conference to learn that they get well over 1 million pageviews per month!

So far only 14 referrals but that is more than half of my current average of 26 visitors per day.
4.5 pages per visit, 42 sec time on site and 0% bounce. Not sure what to make of those stats though.

That's funny Tony! I wish! I ended up getting 71 total visits yesterday, 16 from Wise Bread. Google referrals were double what they normally are. The Wise Bread readers looked at 4.5 pages, stayed 45 sec and 0% bounced.
The length of stay looks low. Can anyone shed some light on that stat? Does that simply mean they did not find what they were looking for?

Congrats!
FrugalToad – I believe that (for GA at least) "Average Time on Site" is skewed downward by the bounces you get (each one is calculated as 0:00, even if someone spent 10 minutes). Are you using Google Analytics? IIRC, they used to not include bounces in the calculation. Even so, you don't get credit for the time spent on the last page of a user's visit – so I wouldn't worry about it.

I normally get a bigger influx from Wise Bread links than this one. Must not have been a popular article for some reason.
My reader story at Get Rich Slowly only brought a few hundred extra visitors even though the post had 92 comments and he had 80K plus subscribers!
The bigger payoff is incoming links from these great sites.

That is really interesting that you only got that small amount of visitors from Wisebread…and even from a GRS reader story. I certainly would have though it to be a lot higher.
But you're right. The quality of the link is critical for future growth!

Great point Kay Lynn. Thanks for pointing this out. A great reminder that links are extremely valuable, even if they aren't bringing in lots of traffic.

Kay Lynn,
Congrats by the way. I think the placement of the article, below the fold, probably had something to with the trafffic.
It's kind of interesting that one of my articles that I spent the least amount of time on was chosen. I think it had more to do with my use of social media, twitter-I follow Ashley Jacobs & retweeted, Linkedin – connected, and commenting on some of her articles that got me on her radar.

Congrats! It is hard to predict which articles will get noticed. Sometimes you put a lot of effort into a post and it flops and other times you write a post off the top of your head and it gets lots of attention. The Wisebread links should help you out for quite a while.

Truer words couldn't have been spoken. There have been articles I've written that I thought 'Yeah, this is going to ROCK the PF community and turn things upside down' and get…one comment, then I'll write something that's totally off the top of my head and thrown together last minute, and it gets a couple dozen comments and included in roundups.
You just never know!
