Last year I was involved in the Yakezie blog swap for April on the topic of taxes. There was some mis-communication and my post never went up on the other person's site. They also seem to have stopped blogging about 6 months ago.
I still have it in my files. Do you think I would be okay to publish it myself next week? Or should I assume that one day it may get published and not post it myself to avoid duplicate content?

I'm looking for editors, beta-readers, and some demographic research for my upcoming novel, Once Upon a Saturn Moon. If you like reading soft sci-fi thrillers, maybe with a touch of romance thrown in, you can find more information at http://seampublishing.com/once…..aturn-moon

No matter what, YOU retain the copyright. Giving them permission to post it does not abrogate that right.
You may have had a contract with the person that you wouldn't duplicate post it if they published it, but they broke their side of the contract.
Yes, you can post it on your site. :)

I would definitely publish it somewhere else Edward if it hasn't been published from last April. You could write to them before you do if you want to, but after a year I think it's safe to assume they are not going to use it.

I think if they haven't published it by now its fair game for you to publish on your own site.

Absolutely, besides you're getting it out there first so it will appear as original to your site regardless.

Hi Ed
I heard you don't want to duplicate content, which would be my only concern. However, if somebody else isn't publishing your content then yeh, I say go for it.
Or send it to me, I love your writing… i'll publish it :-)

Thanks everyone. Look at my site on Friday for the post. Actually, I did more than cut and paste, but added another ~200 words of content and created a calculator in an Excel spreadsheet for others to input their numbers to test my point.
