Changing My Blog's Title

First, thanks so much for a great community, I'm glad that I stumbled across it.

Second, I'd like to get everyone's opinion on whether changing the title of my (newly launched) blog makes sense. I registered the domain growrichsimply.com and just got going. I had heard of the other, quite large, blog that has a similar name but I never thought much about it. In fact, I'm not sure if I've ever visited that site more than once or twice in the past. My blog is about finances, but it is also meant to be about family (with the majority of those posts coming from my wife) and I intended the word "rich" to be used in many senses.

All of that being said, if you were me, would you change the title to something else?

I've only recently launched the blog and I'm getting ~20 visits/day so it's not much trouble to change now… but I sort of like the title.

Thoughts?

Get Rich Slowly (make money over time) and Grow Rich Simply (simple ways to grow wealth) mean two completely different things to me, so if you like it, I would keep it.

If I were you I wouldn't change the name.  Concentrate on building your blog, write up some unique and quality articles, build a blogger circle…

I actually like the name.

Keep your name.  You chose it for a reason.  Just don't ever abbreviate it as GRS and you should be good to go.  I like the name as well.

I think you should keep the name. You have a good reason for it, and it should be clear that you aren't trying to copy off of anyone else.

Thanks to everyone for their thoughtful responses. I'm still debating it, but I really like the name as well. I think I just need to make clear the distinction in the About (and elsewhere) so that I feel good about it as well.

What's your concern if you keep the name? Are you worried about Get Rich Slowly saying something or your site's readers becoming confused? I agree with the others and say keep the name.

I think my main concern is that other bloggers would be less likely to link or otherwise associate with my blog because they felt that I had "copycatted" the name. Clearly, that doesn't appear to be the case.

Keep the name, people will read and come back if they like your blog. I don't think you'll face some type of potential reader backlash, because you aren't doing anything wrong in the first place! That's my 2 cents.

I agree with everyone. People come back for your and your content. And other bloggers might not link you with a anchor text "GRS", but other than that, I don't think anyone cares about the name when they are linking. I visited your blog after I saw your post on the other Alexa 1 million thread, I didn't even realize the name abbreviation until I read this post :) Adding my 2c.

Everyone knows Get Rich Slowly.  No one will make the mistake unless you were the a**hole that registered yesimcheap.com as a rip off of my name.  But since you're not, you're totally safe whether you change it now, or leave it.

Haha, no, that's not me. This is actually the only domain I own.

Thanks again to everyone.

That's just messed up that someone would do that.

Keep the name. I like it, and like BFS, the names mean two totally different things. I'm excited to see what will come out of your site!

I changed from thousand-aire.com to thousandaire.com early in my blogging career, and I think it was definitely a change for the better. If you have something else you like better, then I'd change it. If you like what you have, then keep it.

I wanna be a Thousandaire so freaking bad!

I think they're different enough that you don't have to worry about that … if you had "getrichsloowly" then that wouldn't be so cool ;)

I didn't bother.  I know that they get a bit of my traffic, but as we always say, content is king. They have none.

Keep your name.  I also like your theme.  I would recommend adding headings in your posts.  Your paragraphs look kind of daunting at the start.
