Woo hoo, I'm up to 4.  It's funny, a few days ago, I was just telling a Yakezie Challenger friend that I don't expect to move up from 3 for a long time, and now I'm a 4!  Funny who these things go…

I'll have to tell my friend that I don't expect to get to a PG6 for a long time now Cool

I went up from a PR 0 to a PR 2! I have to post that on here since my friends and family have no idea why this is so exciting! Now I just need to keep lowering my Alexa score to be a Yakezie family member Smile

Go ahead and rub it in!  ;)  Still sitting in that purgatory, while sites I barely tend to go up by 1 or more spots.  Musta made it to a Google black list somehow.

Beating Broke – Sorry they haven't increased your PR from 0. You've got a really good blog, so hopefully this doesn't discourage you.  Like I mentioned earlier in the thread, PR is a weird thing and often inconsistent (I know from experience).  I wonder if you can have someone take a look through your site and identify any potential roadblocks for PR.

Don't be discouraged at all!  I started in 2009 and just got my first PR ever!

The only thing I'm discouraged about is the fact that so many advertisers put so much stock into the PR of a site.  Google can suck an egg. ;)  Just gotta sell them on a mozrank of 5.7 instead, I guess.

Beating Broke – 5.7 is a heck of a MozRank! Hopefully this PR thing gets straightened out for you.

I agree, that should technically translate to PR 5-6. Sorry about PR 0 Frown

I do like that I am finally out of the 0 but Google is so sketchy about the PR business, we should continue to promote moz rank… We'll never know when we are going to lose the PR we have now and for what weird reasons…

Suba –

I agree with you. PR is unpredictable, or at least beyond the scope of my current knowledge of the subject of how it can change on a biweekly basis for some people. This is why I think that while it's really nice to see PR updated for the better, we shouldn't get let ourselves get too caught up in higher PRs this go time around and think we've made it.  There are other measures of success, such as MozRank and Alexa, but also visitor engagement metrics such as visits, unique visitors, comments, etc. Many of those seem more stable and transparent.

Having said all this, I'm totally on board with leveraging PR with advertisers.  It's a result of some hard work, so we're totally justified in promoting it. Might as well, right? Use of what you've got, and a high PR is almost like an intangible asset with value!

That is a great point Suba. We can't put too much stock in page ranks because they can vanish quickly.
