Random Thoughts
Looks like PR update was done with data that was 3-4 weeks old. My highest PR inner pages (individual posts) are those which were previously in my sidebar sitewide, but aren't any more.
If you want easy PR (you still have to work for it!) blog carnivals look like a great way to go. I hosted the Totally Money BC, and my post on it got a higher PR than my homepage. (The post is a PR3: http://moneymamba.com/totally-…..s-edition/ whereas the homepage is a PR2.)

Hmm… Is that true? I just checked my Totally Moneyed carnival page and it's PR0. My homepage is PR3.

Also, I recommend everybody who is dissatisfied with their PRs to write about mozRank. We can't let Google have a monopoly, and therefore need to hedge and promote a competitor.
Finally, although it may seem everybody is getting ranked higher, I'm pretty confident it's because we have been a very focused and special bunch of bloggers. I bet if you canvas the millions of other sites out there, they wouldn't have the same amount of success.
Beating Broke, I have no idea what's up with Google for your site. I only hope that they rectify their system.
One thing to also note is that making money through advertisement is a lot about you and how you can sell and produce relevant content. Don't expect just because you got bumped up, that money is going to fall from the sky. You've got to really build advertising relationships and go after things as well like anything.
Best, Sam
How are mozRanks increased? I seem to be doing fine in the "google world" but I am not sure how to make friends with moz?

I'm thinking that the posts with lots of individual links and trackbacks are the ones that get the higher PRs. I had no inner pages ranked before but I changed my strategy and now I have some ranking as high as 4.
When I now do is when I comment on your sites (hi!) instead of putting my general URL in the box I put a URL for a specific post and do that all week as I comment. The following week I switch to another post, etc. I did this for the posts that I wanted a rank for, and so far it's working. Of course, organic, followed links that others have in their roundups or carnivals are great too.
I checked a guest post that I did for ProBlogger and it has a PR of 4. I almost wished that I had kept that one until I did a search for Problogger on Google and my site popped up on the first page right below ProBlogger itself. I'm not SEP or SEM expert but something is working.

That is a very smart strategy Sandy. It is a way of driving pagerank to a page instead of just the homepage.

That's a really great idea. I'll have to try that.

That's a great idea! Using Market Samurai, I also noticed that many of my pages now have ranks! Some of them are higher than my homepage!

@ Sandy there is another way you can bring pr and traffic, select
the pages you want to rank for. Create xml page for them, submit the
xml feed in webmaster's tools, get article submission links for that
url, comment in new, existing page or ranked page, rather get links from
webmaster using that xml. I did this for my clients and it really
worked for me…
Below given the manual code (name it as you
wish, ex: name.xml) save it as xml and upload it in the root folder and
open the url, add it in your site for visibility.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1" ?>
- <rss version="2.0">

KNS: What does market samurai actually do, and do you have to be tech savvy for it (or is it easy to learn)? Do you think it is worth the money? I've been curious about it but haven't looked into it. Thanks!

How is that different from submitting a sitemap to webmaster tools? Does limiting the number of sites inside the file help? Also, are you getting the links to the xml file on your site, instead of the pages that you want to rank for? Could you clarify the process a little bit for me?

My TMBC post was in the sidebar for a really long time (most commented) so I'm guessing that made it at least a PR3. It could be that the data for the PR update was older than I said. Do you have any more recent posts than that one with PR?

I have a CoPF post from May that's been in my sidebar(most commented) since then. It made PR4, as opposed to my homepage being PR3.

Hey Amanda, I definitely think it's worth it. You don't have to be tech savvy at all – they have detailed videos explaining every feature.
It will help you find keywords for a broad topic (it pulls information from the Adwords Keyword Tool). The great thing is that you can set certain parameters around your topic, so that it will only pull keywords that you want – a good amount of monthly searches, but not too much competition. It will also give you a pretty detailed table of the 10 top ranking sites for each keyword you select. This is great, because when you try to rank for a keyword, your initial goal should be to land on the front page (top 10) on Google. Using Market Samurai can help you determine if it's realistic for you to get there, based on who is already there.
This is useful when writing articles and/or trying to come up with a niche site.
They actually offer a trial period, and then you get a huge discount if you buy after the trial. If you want to try it out, here is my affiliate link: http://knsfinancial.com/go/mar…..etsamurai/
You can also send me an email if you have any specific questions.

I forgot to mention that it includes a rank tracker – you enter a list of keywords that you are targeting, and it will tell you what articles/pages rank for that keyword, where you rank in the various search engines, how many banklinks each page/article has, and the pagerank of the individual pages (as well as your domain). You can do this for multiple domains.

If I am not wrong, that would be Carnival of Personal Finance.
