Hello Yakezies,
When I decided to join Yakezie, I did it to try to increase traffic to encourage good discussions on my posts via the comments. So far, it's been a great success. I don't have a ton of readers but the list is growing, and there's been a few who have really added value with great questions, contrarian views, suggestions, and sharing their own stories.
To reward these types of comments, I'm trying an experiment for the next few weeks. I've turned on CommentLuv with DoFollow, meaning the links will provide link juice to your site. My plan is to keep the CommentLuv on just the best comments, the ones that add value. So if that interests you, come on by and join the conversation.
This doesn't mean I'll delete other comments, I'll just remove the CommentLuv. Your comment and NoFollow link will remain. Please don't be offended if I remove the CommentLuv on your comment, I appreciate all comments, I just wanted to provide extra reward the thought-provoking ones.
This is an experiment, if it becomes too much to manage I will end it after a few weeks.

I haven't used CommentLuv before, but it's a neat feature. Seems like fewer blogs are using it these days but that might be b/c of bugs from a few months ago, not sure. I seem to remember reading about that.
Anywho, I checked out your site and followed you on Twitter. :) I like the countdown to retirement on your homepage, that's sweet!!

Really cool thing to do…I actually had a convo with the creator of ComLuv about the do follow after a nasty commenter said I was being a dick for not putting on the do follow option.
Regardless watch out…if you get your desired result you are going to spend a lot of time cleaning out shitty comments.

I had to remove CommentLuv from my site after it kept breaking. I don't have any plans to put it back but all of my commenters are welcome to deep link in their comments.

That's cool – you'll have to let us know how the experiment goes. I, for one, would be happy to stop on by for a "do follow" link. :)

Ive used commentluv since I began with the Yakezie, at the time most members were suggesting I use this plugin so I could generate more traffic and comments. I would say that it definitely helped in the beginning, and who knows, maybe it still does now.
I wonder if the dofollow links from commentluv could possibly hurt my Google PR…any thoughts?

My PR recently dropped, so I have made my Comment Luv and Sidebar links No Follow. Hopefully that will boost me back up!

I assumed that I had commentluv because I know I acquired the plugin at some point. I checked it out and it looks as if it needed to be upgraded and I did not do it.
I would have no problem with commenter sticking appropriate links to a post inside a comment.

They developer just sent out an email apologizing for breaking blogs and released a new update. Maybe you can try it out again if you really wanted to keep it.

I installed CommentLuv on my blog as a way to encourage more comments. It seems to be a great way to get some deep links to each post. Can anyone recommend any good financial blogs that also use CommentLuv?

I have ComLuv and made it DoFollow. I also use a DoFollow plugin to make my site DoFollow.
I too want to reward good comments. I am pretty loose with this, so long as it's not spam.
