I have been doing some commenting this morning and keep getting caught in spam jails. For those of you who don't have it, I am a huge advocate of the Conditional CAPTCHA plugin.
How it works: If Akismet thinks someone is a spammer, they are given a CAPTCHA to get out of jail automatically. It does not bother people that Akismet does not mark as spammers, so most of your readers would never know about it.
It is a plugin that has eliminated nearly all of my false positives and I highly recommend it.

I took it off since I had quite a lot of falsies and kept having to rescue the same people. I do the "confirm you are human" check box thingie now which reduced that ten-fold.

That is my 2nd favorite anti-false-positive method and it seems to work well.

I use GASP and can count on one hand the number of spam comments I have received since implementing it! I highly recommend it.

I use Conditional CAPTCHA because Akismet keeps marking other bloggers as spam (including me)! I haven't used GASP, but I love commenting on blogs that use it!
