I recently emailed the note below to some of my fellow bloggers (many of you probably got it), but I thought I'd post it here as well. You can either email me your links for consideration each week or leave them here — I'll subscribe to the RSS feed on this thread.
As many of you know, each week I write a personal finance roundup for Consumerist. I generally stick to a list of 15 to 20 sites that I get posts from, sites that I know provide regular, strong content. I would like to include a broader range of sites, but I can't read 100 different RSS feeds to sort through what I'm looking for. However, if we work together, there's a way I can feature more sites and you can benefit from it. Here's what I came up with:
If you have a recent (within the past two weeks) post that you think is very well written and fits the criteria below, email me (fmf [at] freemoneyfinance [dot] com) a link to it by midnight on Saturday for consideration in the following week's roundup.
Here are the types of posts I'm looking for:
1) list posts (i.e. "10 Ways to Save Money", "Five Retirement Steps You Must Take Now", etc.)
2) "how to" posts (i.e. "How to Save 40% on Your Vacation", "How to Make More Money from Your Hobby", etc.)
3) money hack/tips that are very unique (i.e. "Using an HSA as a Super Roth", "Making Money by Selling Body Parts", etc.)
In all cases the posts need to fit the above, be well-written (up to the standards of the WSJ, etc. FYI, this is the reason I don't include my own site regularly in the roundups — I usually don't meet my own criteria for "good writing"!), and unique (in other words, "six ways to save on car insurance" probably isn't going to make it unless the tips are very new/fresh/not the ones we've all heard a million times.)
I will not be able to respond to all the emails. There's no way I can handle the volume. If you are included, I'll try and give you a heads-up, but I can't guarantee it.
Don't feel bad if you're not included in any given post. You may write something killer that I just can't use that week — perhaps I've covered the topic recently in another round up, perhaps there just happens to be five other killer posts that are better, and so on. And please, do not email me asking why your post wasn't included. Simply keep submitting if you like or stop submitting if you think I'm a jerk. :-)
I'll try this plan for a few weeks and see how it goes, but I'm reserving the right to discontinue it if it becomes over-whelming. This is meant to help me find more sites and help you get exposure for your great content. If it's too big of a pain, I'll go back to the old way of doing it — it's working "ok".
Good luck to you all.

Did you read the part about me not being able to review too many RSS feeds?

A few more thoughts:
1. I've been receiving many posts — keep them coming.
2. As I mentioned, I can only use a fraction of what I get, so don't become discouraged if you're not selected. Keep submitting and maybe you'll get in — even if it takes a few months to do so.
3. Sites that have the "sign up for my email newsletter" pop up on them are not going to be selected. I understand why you have that feature, but Consumerist readers don't want to see it so I won't be selecting those sites for inclusion.
4. Don't feel like you have to submit something every week. If you don't write anything great, then don't submit. Only send me your best stuff. (FYI, for reference, I haven't included any of my posts in a few months now because I don't think I've written anything up-to-par in that time period.)
That's it for now. Have a great weekend!

I removed the sign up for posts feature last week so if you already skimmed my post and discarded it for that, can you please reconsider. If it just wasn't the type of post you were looking for, now worries.

FMF, thank you for including my post on saving money on food while at hotels. You've given me my best traffic day ever…right ahead of a mention from Trent on the Simple Dollar. Thanks.

Welcome and thank for extending the offer to us!
I'll try to step up my game a bit (my post lack during the summer months quite a bit, at least it seems that way).

FMF,
Thanks for highlighting this opportunity to the Yakezie Community! I remember starting off and getting rejected left and right, so I stopped submitting to Carnivals or Round Ups. I couldn't get my arms around every place either. I don't think I've submitted to anything for over a year! Now that I know I can come right here to submit, I'll give it a go again.
Hopefully we can get some well-written Yakezie Member Articles included at some point.
Best, Sam

We had our 2nd best day when he included us. It was awesome. The only better day was the Jan 1 last min. Carnival of Personal Finance I hosted for Flexo.

I'm in the same boat Sam. It's been hit or miss for me and carnivals. I've even been rejected by at least one Yakezie, but it's cool since not everyone can be picked . I just keep plugging away trying to reach the challenge goal. Of course, if you were to get rejected today, I'd have to say the host was a bit wacky!
