It just keeps improving. Feel free to disregard my following suggestions:
Not to be nit-picky or to add more doubt in the mix, but I think I like the other tag line better. The Getting Ahead Blog seems a little awkward. What about just "Getting Ahead" ??
Also, what if you moved the banner over with the white background all the way to the left side and had the blue/purple background color all on the right and equal to the width of your sidebar?? Then, if you can add your social media images/links in the banner (on top of the blue/purple background), I think it would be a killer banner – but that is just me.
Either way – your site rocks!

I really like the direction it is going in. There are a bunch of colors on this site, the logo has two colors, the red line under the header is another color, the font in "latest story" is another color, and the headers on "subscribe to rss" etc. are another color, you might want to combine colors so that there are fewer colors on the site.

OK, this is looking seriously good. I agree though that the strap line is a bit 'trippy' (it trips you over when read and when thought about). How about:

@SF I reduced one color, its down to 4 from 5. I somehow want to keep that red patch, I tried changing it to chocolate but that appeal is missing.
@corey I tried using up the right hand corner area, but my theme is not letting me do that…need a PHP expert

I noticed the change in blue right away. I think this subtle change makes it look better.

I like the new banner better as well.
I think the banner should stretch to cover the width of the page, but that's just me.
The nav bar seems to have too many items to me.

I think the O in "one" should be larger. The Penny definitely is unique and makes me think of your site but it's too small in my opinion. Making it larger would show a bit more detail.

The red line under the menu really hurts my eyes and I can't focus on much else. Instead of my eyes moving toward your content I find them drawn back up to the top repeatedly. Distracting might be the word I am looking for. I think sticking to 3 colours (black, blue and copper) is more than enough.

Nothing to do with your banner but the Popular Posts text and Recent Posts text are not aligned with each other. Actually, the Recent Posts is indented whereas your other widget boxes are not.

The recent post is a plugin where as, popular post is just a text widget, so, I am unable to control the indentation.
I will again revert to that color and keep it for a day and wait for your feedback, I mean everyone's.

re: the text widget – you could try using an HTML list (and i'm sure there is some sort of code to add spaces as well).
I'll check out the banner shortly – baby calls, er, wails.
