Hi everybody!

As some of you already know, I have been blogging for about 14 months and have made more than $14,000 (I have also spent at least $1500, but we'll say that is besides the point, lol).  Anyway, about 20% of that has actually been on turning some of those silly link exchange emails and "you're blessed with my posts for free" emails from non-personal sites into actual business deals.

But I know that some of you either ignore those emails completely or simply don't have the time or inclination to answer all of them on the off chance that 1 out of every 5 or more actually turns into money.  I am officially offering my services!

As Kay Lynn at Bucksome Boomer can attest, I am able to help.  I have been doing this exact work for her for a few weeks now and it has worked out great!

Please email me at budgetingfunstuff *at* gmail *dot* com if you are interested.  I work for commission only for this service, so you only pay me when I get you paid.  :-)

Very cool idea Crystal! I love how you put that! These people really do think that it is our biggest blessing ever to have a post of theirs for free, with only 1-2 links to their business site! haha

How do you find in general is the best way to counter them? I usually quote a price for a paid post.

What if you don't have their blessings Smile ? I mean what if I never get those emails? I have got only 2 so far in the last 12 months. If I get to the point where some of these I-am-giving-my-awesome-content-for-free folks, I will definitely get your help. How does it work? We forward the email to you or just create a new email for these things and give you access?

Suba, I'll answer how Crystal and I handle it (which I'm so happy to turn this task over to someone; I hate negotiating!).  i created an email account for advertising and forward any emails I get to it.  I also added an "Advertise Here" page that publishes and email address that goes directly to the email that Crystal handles.

@Jacob, yep, I counter with a sponsored post idea instead of politely declining.  :-)

@Suba, if the advertisers aren't coming to you, we'd need to go to them.  And Kay Lynn's dead on about how we work it out – new email address so I don't have to peek into yours and my email address isn't bombarded with everyone at once.  :-)

Awesome! Yeah, I really do enjoy negotiating with these folks! I find it sort of funny how SHOCKED they are when they find out that they have to pay for linking to their business website. I would say that my success rate is about the same – 1 out of every 5. Usually, the negotiated paid post rate is slightly lower, but oh well! :)

My favorite was when one advertiser actually was basically "begging" me to post the post for free! "Please post my post, just one post. It is high quality content, never published elsewhere." "You posted something for XXXX for no charge 10 months ago." "Whine whine whine whine whine."

Me: "No. I am sorry. Posts linking to business websites have to be paid!"

Also, I think the key to having mass amounts of these people contact you is to have a "guest post" tab on your site.  I know Crystal and I both have them (at links below). Feel free to copy/paste mine if you want.

I have had no luck converting these offers.  I even got a scolding once for asking one advertiser.  It was funny.

I need to put up a PR okay and guest posting tab.  It is on my list of things to do.

That's normal.  I had one last week that was upset that I didn't find his glorious words to be payment enough.  I convert probably 10% of the BS guest post requests to money.

Wow, I hit a nerve today!  :-)  I am so glad this service is being well received!!!

@My Personal Finance Journey, having an advertiser tab really does help!

@Buy Like Buffett, thanks!

@Melissa, I've been scolded too.  I think it's pretty funny.  :-)

@Jason, it really is funny!  I love explaining how the world works to people who try to get free advertising for debt consolidation companies…

@Mike, got it, thanks!

If anybody else in interested, keep shooting me emails.  Thanks to some very awesome people, I have this almost down to a science.  :-)

Hi, all.  I just wanted to let you know that I tried this out with Crystal last week, and she successfully secured a sponsored post for me.  I have NEVER had luck turning around "I'll-write-a-post-for-free-for-you" e-mails, but Crystal was able to do it.  I highly recommend her services!!
