Curious about other anonymous bloggers

Hey anonymous bloggers out there. I have some questions for you that I have been wondering about since I started my site, this seems like the best place to try to find a variety of answers. I'm mostly just curious to see other peoples reasoning. I looked to see if a topic was posted like this already but couldn't exactly find any so if this  is a repeat question I'm sorry.

I was curious as to why people chose to be anonymous bloggers instead of giving out their real identities?

For me I chose to be anonymous because the theme of my blog is basically "My corporate job sucks, I need to get the hell out." It's not that I hate my job (though I have hated past jobs) but I really don't care about what I do and it pays the bills far better than any other job I could reasonably get so I'm not switching.

How anonymous are you? Do you're friends/family know? Do you just keep your professional life unaware of your site? Why?

Right now I'm slowly telling some people in my personal life about my site. I wanted to make sure it was something I would stick with for a while before I told people. Also, I don't think most of the people in my personal life care enough to really read what I write so that's part of the reason I didn't tell them. And once I tell them I don't really mention it a lot because they are either going to look or they won't, I don't care to make them feel like they *need* to. But at this point I never plan to post it to my personal facebook page or something because I do have some friends from work on there. The last thing that I want is people at my work knowing that I don't really want to be there.

The last question I have is the one I'm the most curious about though. Do you have any difficulties because you are an anonymous blogger or don't want to give out too much personal information?

There have been a few times that I might want to mention what field my company is in or some other semi identifying information and I know that based on that piece of information it's probably pretty possible to narrow down where I work to about 2 companies which aren't the biggest companies around. Does it sometimes feel like writing a bad review on yelp or glassdoor, where you want to tell every detail, but not reveal enough to the point where people know who wrote it?

If you aren't an anonymous blogger do you ever have issues with your writing because you might feel the need to "filter" out something so you don't hurt someone's feelings in your personal life? Or piss off employers?

Honestly I'm sure people can figure out who I am, it's probably not all that hard, but unless you happen to be someone in my regular life I don't really care. I just don't want people to Google my real name and find my blog. I'm actually glad that if you Google my real name someone else with my same name pops up!

I initiated a somewhat similar question a while back:

Pen name or real name?

Thanks Mr. Utopia, that was pretty much exactly what I was looking for. It sounds like a pen name doesn't really cause any issues. Though I'm curious as to why people think that giving their real name will give them more credibility. I would think that the history of their site will be similar to proving their credibility.

I think that this is the case Zee. Clearly, there are some big players (Mr. Money Mustache, etc) who have built up great amounts of credibility under that pen name.
