Does anyone have a daily blog to do list? I am just getting started and looking for a way to get more organized and get more done. Sometimes I wonder what tasks should be done daily, weekly, etc.

I do. It's actually more of a ritual and less of a list, but every day I get up and open my google reader. I comment on all posts that interest me (usually 30-50 ish) and open up tweetdeck – I schedule tweets about those posts that I really like to promote those bloggers, about an hour apart.

Then, I do one last scan through my reader – if I like a post but didn't tweet about it, I'll +1 it (Google+).

I check all of my stats, answer blogger/advertiser/networking emails, check to see if there were any posts since I started all of this (takes me about an hour and a half), and then check throughout the day for emails/comments/etc that require my attention. Then I log onto Yakezie – see if there's any threads that interest me.

I try to tweet about at least 5-6 posts a day and +1 at least 2-3 (although this is harder to remember to do). I try to comment on as many as possible and participate in these forums where I can.

Set time everyday…

- Commenting

- Networking w/other bloggers

- Networking via Yakezie

Every other day…(if you choose to)

- Write a post in full or half of one, that way you finish it off the next day.

Eventually you'll be multitasking a lot of things in day.

- Answering emails

- Commenting

- Networking

- SEO

- Guest Posting

- Freelancing

Enjoy blogging. It's fun in every sense and rewarding in more ways than one.

My list is pretty simple. Wake up and comment on blogs that I love. Then check comments on my blog. I'm on twitter pretty much all day.

Wow Daisy, that's an awesome list. I'm glad this question was asked, because I was wondering the same thing. I'm trying to dedicate one full hour each morning (Mon thru Fri) to blogging activities, but it's mostly been taken up by writing. I think I may get onto some kind of social networking management site (Hootsuite or something). I have got a bunch of blogs on google reader, and need to add more. I like the idea of commenting on 30-50 blogs a day, but I don't know if I have that much time available.

Umm Daisy, that's a lot of work.  Wow.  Hats off to your dedication.

I would recommend starting from the back end.  How many blog posts are you planning to do a week? Then how much time does it take you to write and finalize?  Calculate this and compare with your daily life schedule.  Are they completely off?  Next add in time for networking, reading, and social media. Use this to plan your allotted time for blogging and its marketing.  You'll be less likely to burn out or stress.

I start work (in my businesses) at 5:30 AM.  Throughout this time, I'll throw extra things into Twitter as I run across interesting articles.  It may or may not be posted the same day.  I'll schedule them if they're not urgent.

The time that I have to work on my blog is at night (after 9PM – once family time is done and after staff scheduling).  I probably get about 2 hrs/3 days a week.  Reading blogs is during the weekend.   My RSS feed is 1500 articles/wk.  I don't comment unless I have something valid to add so people don't always know that I visit.   I do what I can and not worry about it.

I'm trying something new. Before I check any email, tweets, and such. Start or finish an article. If you don't have anything to say, there's nothing to promote.

I do scan my email every morning for blog related things, such as guest post offers. Then take a quick look at my stats and comments. When I get home, I reply to all my comments, check Yakezie, skim my Reader and then reply to any posts I found interesting, usually 5-10. That's about all I can squeeze into my daily schedule and still have time for work and an offline life. On the weekends, I try to get most of my posts for the week done. Don't always succeed, but I figure if I can get three done, I can do the other two during the week.

I'm looking for editors, beta-readers, and some demographic research for my upcoming novel, Once Upon a Saturn Moon. If you like reading soft sci-fi thrillers, maybe with a touch of romance thrown in, you can find more information at http://seampublishing.com/once…..aturn-moon

Every morning I tweet my blog post, check my emails.  I than reply as needed to any comments (and do this throughout the day).  I open up google reader, read the blogs, comment/tweet as I go and start the ones that I want to include in my round up at the end of the week.  After this is all done, I continue to find new blogs and will also work on blog posts during the day.  I try to get at least the one for the next day and will build up some backlogs as I can.

It's a TON of work. I'm not going to lie (luckily I enjoy it). But my blog has seen amazing growth because of it, and I've been able to connect with bloggers that I wouldn't have even known about had I not stepped up and decided to work at it. My Alexa went from 850K in January to under 55K right now – I have a decent (though not amazing) PR and my traffic has increased by 150% (at least) every month since January (when I started working at it).

It pays off – I'd be lying if I said I had the time (I am a full-time student and I have a day job), but I make the time because it's important to me – it's not so for some other people and that's ok :)

I try to:

–Write a post

–Write a second and maybe third post to build a queue or have a potential guest post ready

–Tweet today's post

–Re-tweet a few others that I follow

–Comment on 6-9 blogs

–Read through and do some Yakezie forum commenting

–Check and clean my e-mail

–Reply to comments on my blog

Once a week I try to:

–Check my Alexa, PR, Moz, DA, and PA

–Database and full site backup

–Backup of my backup

–Clean up broken links

–Modify redirected links

–Scan Webmaster tools and clean up 404 errors discovered

Keeps me busy!

Wow, I'm so impressed. I'm exhausted reading your lists. I check my email, twitter, write, comment, guest write, participate in forums a lot within a week. No daily routine, depends on my schedule. I don't work after 9 pm, too tired.

Working 60+ hours per week, my to do list tends to revolve around my work duties, but I find that it works well.

8 – 12, work stuff
12 – 2, update Google Reader and comment on 5 – 10 new posts, reply to my comments and check the Yakezie forums
4 – 6, after the market closes, I'm able to work on completing 1/2 of a post
Once I'm home, I'll check Reader again and continue working on posts.

I find mobile WordPress to be a great tool. From anywhere, you can edit posts, review comments, etc.

I really liked your list. I have one that's really similar and it works great – when I can actually get through it lol. I think once you get over the hurdle of taking the list and making it a real habit, then you will start to see some real results. Which is probably why I'm probably one of the longest blogs to ever participate in the Challenge. Still chugging though :)

Eh, not especially. I don't have a cast-iron routine.

I clear my Reader in spurts throughout the day and comment on posts that take my fancy. I check my comment queue and approve pending ones. Any blog emails come through my main Gmail inbox and I deal to those. I'm on social networks all day for work, and check in on my own accounts periodically as well. I might tweet out posts that particularly strike me, and as for actually writing? I tend to do that in batches too – I'll start a bunch of drafts with rough ideas, then flesh those out and schedule them when inspiration takes me. I usually have posts scheduled for up to a week or two in advance.

I try to take a bit of a break on weekends and stay off the interwebs, too.
