It has now been a week since I have started using Wordpress for my soon to be announced 2nd blog.  It started out a little shaky, but now I have to admit that I am liking Wordpress.  A lot.  So much so that despite my true love for Blogger, I am actually considering moving The Single Saver to Wordpress someday.

Darn you all and your Wordpress peer pressure!!!  :)

I know what you mean. I have been using it for another site and liked it more than I thought that I would. I'll be moving my site too. :)

I've never used blogger. What do you like about wordpress over blogger?

I was a big fan of Blogger until I started using Wordpress. Now I have trouble remembering why I liked blogger so much (besides being free–for the most part, I consider Blogger a better platform than Wordpress.com but self-hosted Wordpress is head and shoulders above Blogger)

I'm looking for editors, beta-readers, and some demographic research for my upcoming novel, Once Upon a Saturn Moon. If you like reading soft sci-fi thrillers, maybe with a touch of romance thrown in, you can find more information at http://seampublishing.com/once…..aturn-moon

I have the same story as Andrew. I was thinking "why fix what's not broken." But now I realize it was broken all along and I just didn't know.

I haven't tried blogger since it was still just called blogspot.  Wordpress seems to be the way to go since it gives you so much more flexibility.  With blogger you're just too limited in what you can do.

Wordpress is by far the best content management system.

At work we used WordPress to launch a new service called Kare360, and had it up and running in 8 weeks.  Well, the website prep took no more than 10 days, but we were working with a shoestring budget, and wanted to get a site up that would facilitate content management yet remain scalable.  I am not sure we will be moving it off of WordPress, though pieces are built in Ruby on Rails.

On another note, I am looking at a theme change in my WordPress blog and am hoping to go to Thesis (after I get a bit of cash together to do so).  What do those of you who use Thesis think of it?

You can do anything you want to with it, there are thousands of themes to choose from, tons of well-documented technical information available, and most hosts have 1 click installs available. (And even if they don't, you can probably set up your first site ever from scratch in 15 minutes or less.)

It'd be easier to say what I dislike about WordPress: nothing.

Just know that most people who talk about WordPress here are talking about self-hosted WordPress (wordpress.org) and not wordpress.com.

I like the maneuverability, and the SEO is more intuitive and less laborious.

WordPress is quite salable. BestBuy.com runs WordPress.

Welcome aboard!  Enjoy the ride!

One of the nice things is that if you have questions, you'll definitely get a lot of help here as I'm guessing 80% or more of the people here have experience and can help.  So, there's another indirect benefit if you need one :)
