I've received several emails (see below) like this and not sure how to respond. Are they 100% SPAM or can I leverage them somehow? Is there any money in this? If I accept links, will the big G penalize me?
Any thoughts on how you respond (or ignore) would be appreciated.
EMAIL:
"Are you still accepting guest posts or advertising on your site?
We are looking for websites which accept guest blog posts/articles. We can supply the content, which will be 100% unique/informative and written by professional content writers.
All we would require in return is 1-2 links within the article body, or at the end of the article. We can also offer ongoing content if that is of interest.
If this could be of interest to you please let me know! We can get content over to you asap."

If you say yes, you are giving free advertising and hurting your blog with spammy text links

I've been lately getting standard emails asking for link exchanges. When I check out the sites, they usually aren't live. I would definitely be suspicious of standard emails that aren't personalised to you or your blog in any way. This would imply low quality and spam to me. You will probably receive very poorly written articles, probably spun to be unique. But you can always have a look for yourself to see what they are offering. You are certainly not obliged to publish their content. I'm sure you already know this, but never publish low quality content on your blog. It can take ages to build a solid reputation, and only a moment to destroy it!

Thanks for responses. I've been sending them my Guest Post Guidelines page and I never hear back from them.

Hi Brett, if they're a commercial entity then you can make money out of them! If they're legit they'll barter with you! If they don't reply just move on. Hope I've helped you there!

Good idea about sending them the post page requirements, as this is what I do. Just another good way to weed out the spam.

I think I just got one the other day. Don't think I'll be much help though because I just send them over to Crystal since she handles my advertising. I'll let you know if it pans out.

I respond with my rate for sponsored posts. Most do not respond after that.
Another option is if you are building a secondary site to eventually sell ads or sponsored posts on. You can just post those articles on that site to build it up a bit. Start getting links to those articles and build it's PR.
