Just wondering how much spams you guys get in a day? ever since yesterday, I'm getting like around 20 spams(not food) every few hours. with urls from yahoo, google and bing. It's getting really annoying

Akismet said I get about 50-100 each day. Do you have some kind of filter?
Most people like the "click here if you are not a spammer" plug in. I think it's called GASP. Try it out.

I don't get any and I use GASP. It's great. I also use Akismet. I can't remember what extra protections it offers (or if it is necessary if I have GASP), but I don't get any.

I use Akismet as well, and it works pretty well. I can go weeks with only 1-2 spam. However, some days I somehow get like 20 in a day! Who knows!

I don't get that much, maybe one every few days. There have been waves of more in the past, but it's controlled well at this point

Somehow I never get much spam, may be 1 or 2 a day in the spam folder. So I go in once a week and look through them quickly to make sure there are no real comments there and delete them.

98% of my spam is taken care but about 10 to 15 get through all the protection a day, very annoying. That number is down from about 45…
I am not sure when I installed it but Akismet has stopped 52K spam comments and Bad Behavior stopped 20K bots

I use Disqus and don't have any issues with spam. I couldn't even tell you the last time I had a spam comment – I'm not sure I've had any since I moved to WP.
Aaron – I also sent you an email through the contact form on your site. It was probably a little over a week ago.

I am like Suba. I get very little and I go through it manually to make sure no one ended up there accidentally. I use AVH and Akismet so not much gets through.

I was at the point where I was getting over 100 spam comments a day! I finally got myself a spam filter that forced a reader to check a box before they submit their comment. Now I'm down to about 2 spam comments a day. It's wonderful. :)

Oy..I feel like a moron. I looked into Akisment when I first started blogging and I thought it was a pay-for service. I didn't realize (until today) that you could get a free key. Haha!
I've been manually deleting a couple hundred spam comments everyday. This is going to be a real time saver…

I have Askimet and Conditional Captcha and usually get just a few spam comments a day although it still sometimes spikes to pages of spam in a day. Before adding Conditional Captcha though I was getting pages of spam every day.

I've been asked to 'Confirm that I'm not a spammer' by checking a box more and more, so this seems to be catching on. That, of course, means that the spammers are probably working furiously to come up with a way around it (I picture the 'Far Side' strip where the dogs are trying to crack the secrets of doorknobs).

Okay–good to know. I think you need to check into your contact form then because several people have sent you emails but "never heard back from you", which means it appears you aren't getting your emails. That's a surefire of not getting advertising deals:).
