Working on the #debtmovement and I thought it would great to include some personal stories.

So…..if you have a debt story, there's about 100% chance you'll be featured.  :)

If you already have a post that you written about it, be sure to drop it here so I can add it to the list.

Thanks!!!

I bought this stock some time ago, hoping it would double in two years or so. Typical Warren Buffett value investment play: find something undervalued and wait patiently.

I don't check my investments more than once every couple of weeks, because I'm not expecting any quick gains. So, this one morning I look, and during the morning the stock went up by about 15%. In a single day! This never happens (I stay away from penny stocks and small caps). So, on a whim, I put in a big sell order for exactly 20% more than the previous day's closing price. Ten minutes later the trade executes. And the price promptly falls back to close to its previous level. The only explanation I have is there was a short squeeze or something and I happened to stumble upon it at the right time. Total fluke.

The debt payoff story? The gain from that one single transaction was enough to completely pay off our second mortgage – the last remaining item of debt other than our first, which we'll probably carry until we sell the house. Given how rarely I look, the (accidental) impeccable timing of the whole thing was just amazing.

You know how it is when you pick up a $20 bill on the street? You keep looking down at the sidewalk for the next one, don't you? Guilty: after that windfall I started looking at my investments every day for a repeat. But nada. A once in a lifetime lucky shot is all it was. But the second mortgage is history. :)

Congrats! AES is my biggest debt…the one I don't want to even think about till I got everything else paid off.

I don't know if this counts as what you are looking for, but in December I paid off my Discover card, which had gotten maxed out before it was closed. It was the first debt that I ever actually managed to pay off (being the smallest at "only" $2000 helped), so it felt really good when it happened.

I'm looking for editors, beta-readers, and some demographic research for my upcoming novel, Once Upon a Saturn Moon. If you like reading soft sci-fi thrillers, maybe with a touch of romance thrown in, you can find more information at http://seampublishing.com/once…..aturn-moon

Update:  If you have an AWESOME Debt Pay off story, please contact Ben from Money Smart Life.  Email:  ben@moneysmartlife.com.

He's currently putting together a  book for Amazon Kindle where he shares some uplifting stories of people that paid off some big chunks of debt.

He's doing this to purely support The Debt Movement – Awesome!.

We've got some good stories thus far, but could definitely use a few more.

If you have a debt payoff story, I want to this a bit different.  I want to interview you for The Debt Movement blog.

I just need you to answer these questions:  Debt Movement Spotlight Survey.

And yes, you get links to your blog.  Laugh
