I suspect that there are companies that will give you products to use in giveaways as a form of advertisement. I'm interested in hearing how you all connect with those companies – especially for the more valuable products from the more well known brands.
Sorry if this is a repeat thread – I searched but didn't find anything.

I get emailed sometimes to do reviews for things which I will then turn into a giveaway. Otherwise, I either buy the products myself or get sponsorships from other bloggers.

Shannyn from Frugal Beautiful might be a good one to contact about this – she does giveaways ALL the time (so much that she built another site to house them all) and she's very good at pitching the companies she wants to work with. I always tell her she'll end up with a free house someday. :)

Thanks so much for this thread and your answer, Andrea! I'm going to contact Shannyn as I have the same question.

Thanks everyone for your answers!
Miss T – when you get emails to review things – does the email sender provide a free 'thing' for you?
Thanks for your response as well Andrea.

My blog has been active for about seven months and I'm just starting to get offers for reviews now. I had the same question before, but somehow it just started picking up….

I've done about 5 giveaways in almost 2 quick years. The bigger ones I buy/giveaway my own products with the money generated through the blog. I've also been fortunate enough to have been given about 5 books thus far for review. Typically when I get offered something, I'll ask the publisher to send me an extra 2-3 copies – One I keep for my self, and the rest I give away upon the book review.

I get a few book pitches a month. Most of them aren't of interest, but some are so I ask for 2-3 copies like FOX said.
