Is there a correlation between the day you submit a post and the amount of traffic that you get? By this I mean that if I submit a post on Monday will it get more views than if I submitted it on Wednesday? I ask this question because I just wrote a detailed post on commodity prices and I'm not sure if I should submit it now or wait till the week.

For me personally I would say no. I do get more traffic during the week than on weekends for some reason… but if i post an article on wednesday i may have more people who view it on friday…or even saturday…it just seems so arbitrary. Interesting thought, Ive considered it myself a few times…others may have a different take. Ive been trying to delay new posts a little more because Im concerned that when people come they may not scroll down for old posts as much.

We post daily due to our 365 Sustainability Tips series we undertook this year. Weekends are always lower traffic. I would need to take a look at weekdays but i'd be reluctant to come to any conclusion until we have a years worth of data to look at.

I've never noticed much of a difference. The weekends may be down slightly, but nothing dramatic. But then again, I don't get much traffic!

I get more traffic on Monday and Tuesday, and generally more comments on those days, too. Then again, it may be because I have a bad habit of posting up a huge post on Wednesday that requires some patient reading.

I usually get more traffic on post days (M-W-F), but for the last month, I've been getting just as much weekday traffic on Sat-Sun, which is awesome. I'm trying to write a Saturday post now and drive that even higher!

I would imagine a lot of readers on Sunday (just my general assumption) since they have more time to web surf.

Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday posts seem to do best for me. Monday is not far behind. Fridays and the weekends just seem to flop, although of the three, Saturday seems to do best for some reason.

Tuesday through Thursday is the best for me too. Mondays take a close second, and then Friday, which is quite a lot farther behind. Saturday and Sunday get about half as many visitors as a typical weekday. Hope this helps!

Saturdays are the worst day of the week for me. Monday is the best.

I don't get a lot of traffic right now, but it seems like my best days are on the weekend.

I post daily. My best days tend to be Thursdays and Fridays and my worst are Sundays.

I had a theory about this but I've never tested it. From what I've heard, most people post on a Monday, Wednesday, Friday schedule, so I figured, with all of that content rushing in on the same days, people might be more apt to skip one of your articles. It might be worth testing out though. Maybe try tossing out a post on Monday, then a post of similar content on Tuesday or Thursday and see if anything significant changes.
Again, it could just be meaningless conjecture, but without testing, we won't know. Nice thoughts though!
Thanks,
Timothy

My best day is Monday and worst days are Saturday and Sunday. Friday is the worst weekday depending on the time you post (morning is good, evening is bad).
Tuesday-Thursday are all about the same.

For me Mondays are the best, slowly drops down and the weekends are the lowest. Now the gap has shortened though. It used to be I will get 2-3 times the weekend traffic on Mondays, but it is not Mondays are 1.2-1.3 of weekend traffic. Adsense is quite the opposite, even with less page views the revenue is much higher on the weekends (for me). I have not been posting very regularly due to a recent personal emergency but I usually post M/W/F.
Deciding which day to post your best post depends on what kind of traffic you get. For example if you get 90% of your traffic from search engines, it doesn't matter which day you post what. But if 90% is from regular readers, the post will be seen immediately by them, so I would post it on the most traffic day.
